5:06 , ever thought of bringing a inflatable baby bathtub to put under the engine when working above water? It has saved me a few times when working on lower ends or engine parts. Takes a few seconds to inflate but brings so much time, not having to get a spare bolt or nut or, worse, another part!

Who brought out the joy stick feature first? Yamaha or Mercury? I love that shot at the beginning of that Cat joy sticking back into its berth.

Thanks and it was Volvo Penta that had the first joystick. Yamaha used Sea Star and Mercury designed its own.

Just make sure you shake the mercury silver paint very well.. had a unit years ago that had some paint damage from shipping and the silver paint would never match mercurys fix was to clamp the can to a saw saw blade and use the saw saw to shake the can and it did match at that point just a heads up I have had to do it multiple times since l

I have heard of people doing that. It's not a bad idea. Definitely if you are working on a lift with tons of hardware 😊

If you had the choice on a new boat are you choosing the Yammys or Mercs?

I would choose Yamaha if it was on a fishing boat or cruiser but Mercury if I wanted something fast. The MTI cat is one of my favorites.

Not on a new motor but maybe if it was 5 years old or better. They are reusable.
