To me this is a great channel because it doesn't matter if I'm doing the same things that Ricky is doing. I get inspired from every single video, and then go off and do my thing with a fresh outlook and an attitude that is all about having fun. That's valuable to me. In fact it's often the one thing I need the most when I'm lost in a sea of technology and options, comparing my work to others and bogged down by the myth of perfection.

Loved this! I love good reverb fx and will be starting a modular unit soon with the intention of focusing on effects (maybe I don't know enough about it, just feels like Eurorack would be a great way of including a lot of fx that are hard to find in a singular keyboard synth). Anyway it sounds great and always good to see how much joy you get out of it I get the same way!

endorphins told me some of the first modules had the often mentioned noise issues... fix via firmware update didnt fully fix it. so as im interested in it. do you hae any noise issues with your module? or nothing? thx

Just going to put this out there as an honest heads up to anyone thinking of buying one of these, I had to return my unit because of the noise. Don't know if you experienced this at all Ricky but it seems to be a common issue (a lot of people seem to report the same ground hum-y/2k pitched noise on muffwiggler). It's a pity cause I absolutely loved the Milky Way, super fun to play and really quick to dial in, but the noise stuck out far too much in a mix. Hoping it's down to a manufacturing mishap as I would love to grab a clean(er) one but from Endorphin.es response so far, seems it's like it's meant to be part of its character?

I have the same noise on mine. It's very noticeable. I thought it was my power, but I tried a different power supply and it's the only noisy module in my system. I can't hear in in this video, so I don't know if it is every module or what. Big disappointment because the features are great on the thing and I wish it worked like it should.

Devin Nigh 1 second press of type button. Turn cabin fever all the way clockwise or counter clockwise so that 2 of the 4 leds are on. And on mine at least the noise goes away, I think the noise comes from the cross fading.

Great video, thanks for it. This module sounds really good. I'm looking for live oriented effects and filters for my live case. The Milky Way and Squawk Dirty could do the job. If you have time, a video of the Skuawk would be awesome.

Hey man, just got one of the these and I love the potential BUT mine has a noticeable high pitch noise, and then white noise on some of the effects even when nothing is running through it. The support team at Endorphins have been amazing but we still haven't settled it. Have you noticed any of this on your module? None of it is coming through in this video so I wanted to check. Loads of other people saying they have the same problem online but maybe some units are free from this issue? Side question - those cables don't look like the Hosa ones you posted a link to. I love how firm those look and the short lengths are what I'm looking for - what are those?! :) Thanks bud.

yes unfortunately mine has also a noise at 2kHz and hamonics up - even with the latest firmware - If someone knows a solution then please let us know!

Norbert Simon I’ve been told there is a lot on the back that can turn up/down the input volume so you don’t have to crank the Volume knob on MW which I think can help noise floor issues. The update worked quite well for my unit though so I have yet to see if this trick would improve things. If I try it I’ll respond here.

I for one would like to see others! I preordered the Milky way silver but I run stuff different than most people I dedicate all my effect and run everything in stereo with separate FX chains on each side. Of course the modular is just one piece of the puzzle and I have ALL the Dreadbox FX and do the same chain thing with every track. It took a while to organize it all out of my way, the Milky Way helps a lot and Velcro fixed the rest! Peace Ricky, ty for the preview!

Okay, it looks great, but what about in 2021/22, how about any other effects modules you've seen or tried? Three examples that look interesting are the Happy Nerding FX Aid XL, TipTop's ZVERB, and the Noise Engineering Digitalis series? Great video, always such a friendly vibe, and music too. Thanks.

Would love to see a shootout between this and FX Aid. I'm already sold that these are smarter choices than Pico DSP or Pico Dual FX since they have delays that can be synced, I mean, who wants _only_ unsynced delays? On paper FX Aid seems a better choice than Milky Way since price is identical but FX Aid is smaller with more effects, more physical controls without tap-for-secondary-function, and will be customizable / easily changed. With Milky Way you have to hope Endorphins may one day offer alternative firmware, because you _will_ get bored with those effects, but I am impressed they are using their own DSP instead of FV-1 one; at the end of the day whichever _sounds_ best is what I want.
