During the behind the scenes of the episode Sal dies, they talk about his death, and the Actor says it's very fitting. Sal was full of heart and a very emotional guy. He cared very deeply about his family and his people. So much so that, ultimately the thing that took him out, was his own heart.

Do you really think a guy like Oz, and there are not many like him, was ever going to let Vic live? Do you really think The Penguin brought Vic out in the middle of nowhere to drink? It didn't matter what Vic would have said...All Oz's emotions are BS, so you can't connect dots using OZ's emotions like you would do for a typical character, as OZ is a psychopath. Lastly, OZ did not love his mother. OZ's mother did not make him weak. OZ was just selfish and wanted to put his mother up in the Penthouse...That is all it was ever about. It had nothing to do with love for his mother...it was just about fulfilling his promise to her, to make OZ feel good, not his mother...And if the mother is dead, how can he do that? That is why in the end you see the mother being kept alive, trapped in her own mind, up in her penthouse, looking out over the city with tears in her eyes. The Penguin loved his mother like the Joker loved his mother.

It sucks, but he couldn’t let someone he cares about get in his way and be a weakness, like his mother was. This show is so good because it makes you understand why he does what he does while not romanticizing it and letting us know that he isn’t a good guy at all, same for pretty much every main character in this show expect maybe Vic.

Vic's death is even more tragic when you consider Oz throwing away his ID away so no one can ID his body making him just another nameless victim in gotham to be forgotten like he didn't even matter after working so hard for Oz to make a place for himself in the world. In the end Vic got the exact opposite.

All three of them are monsters. Only one Won. Sofia murdered a kid in cold blood in the very first episode and then bombed a civilian area of Gotham, you know like the Riddler. She did indeed go on a killing spree. I wonder how things would be if Alberto was alive. Francis never even considered making Oz better or rehabiliatating him. She either would have killed a kid or turn him into a monster for her personal gain. Imagine growing up a mother who hates you and wishes you would die and only uses you from materialistic gain. No wonder Oz is how he is. And up until this episode Oz didn't have any innocent blood on his hand. Until he killed Victor. With that he betrayed every single person in the show. Honestly I wouldn't have hated him if he backstabbed his way to top, because that's just business. It's not like the Falconie's or Salvatore's are saints, they deserved it. But what he did to his Mom and Vic is just disgusting.

The most fucked up thing about vic’s death is that his ID was discarded of, his family is dead, and his girlfriend is across the country. There’s no one in Gotham to identify him, no one to remember him, or mourn him. He played a pivotal role in the rise of most powerful criminal enterprise, but he ended up as a faceless, nameless, nobody, and no one will ever know him as anything but just another dead kid in crown point.

*The* *Penguin* I finally caught up and finished the series last night. I was going to make a comment for Ep. 6 about 2 weeks ago but just didn’t find the time. Then when Ep. 7 rolled around, I didn’t see it until the other night. I was so invested on our 2024 Election, I decided to put off watching The Penguin until only 2 days ago. I personally thought Ep. 6 was a little weak. Felt it was a rethread. I don’t hate it or think it’s awful. Just wasn’t one of the stronger episodes. But Ep. 7 and 8 were very strong. Ep. 7 gave us a very informative background on Oz’s younger life and how needy he’s always been. The scene that broke most viewers’ hearts: Oz chokes Victor to death. Damn. Damn. Damn. I had a feeling this would happen. Shows the black heart that Oz always had. He can care but he can never care enough as his mom told him. I did feel the last 2 episodes, Oz and Sofia were wearing plot armor as if the writers didn’t want to kill either one which makes sense. They’re too good to kill off this soon. But when Sofia got Oz’s mom to confess that she always knew Oz let his brothers drown, that was some gripping drama to watch. Then the betrayal of Link towards Zhao was one of those twists I did not see coming as I thought Victor was going to rat on Oz. I was relieved that Sofia wasn’t killed and only went back to Arkham where she would receive a letter from her half-sis, Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman). This can set up so many intriguing possibilities in the two sequels for The Batman. Bruce has got a lot on his plate if he has to deal with Oz and Sofia still alive out there. Oz truly is a wicked, wicked man who should get no sympathy from the viewers. Sofia is the better human being in the story. The ending was also quite beautiful. I hope this show wins Emmys for Colin and Cristin. It was the best performances of their careers. The most brilliant DC series I’ve ever seen with no bad episodes. It stayed consistent and it made sense. I’ll give it a 8.5/10 overall. Best series I’ve seen since Andor S1. RIP Victor ^ That scene is as heartbreaking as when Fredo Corleone was killed by Al Neri ordered by Michael in The Godfather Part II. Victor gave up everything for Oz and saved his life multiple times in the series only to get betrayed at the end. Can’t wait for The Batman II.
