Mike is an impressive human being. I just heard him on the vigilance elite podcast. And i love shawn ryan and his channel. And found out abkut Mike Glover that way. It meant alot to me to hear about him being in a shitty apartment in tx being drunk wa pistol in his hand. Im a veteran from tx and ive pretty much been in this exact scenario. Being isolated on the holidays. Im no where near the warrior this man is, but i followed the same self destruction blueprint. Just to hear mighty men like mike telling their stories of vulnerability means alot to the rest of us mortals. Anyways, good show, great channel, great guys.

I just want to add that Mike is far from a Joe Schmo. Mike was not just a Green Beret. Mike was an elite Green Beret serving as part of the CIF team. He later moved on to Delta Force which is the most elite tier 1 unit in the world. Once he left Delta he went back to the Green Berets and stood up a new CIF team from scratch. Mike reaches the rank of Sergeant Major which is the highest rank obtainable for an enlisted man. I served with Mike in 2004 and 2005 in Afghanistan. His career in the Army is the stuff of legends. He’s a true bad ass.

@fosty.5 жыл бұрын
Can you explain the restrictions you mentioned?
@AZMarine5135 жыл бұрын
@@fosty. It is very easy to find combustible liquid fuel tanks that are fairly affordable. For a transfer tank to "legally" store and carry flammable liquid fuel, it has to be DOT certified/approved. Design, welded seams and vented caps are different for a DOT tank. They are out there. They are not as common and cost a bit more.

I think mike is thinking of the Florida truck scene with super high lifts, 22” wheels not ca. Here in ca most trucks are set up for desert running dunes or rock crawling. Glamis, hammers and Baja. Less than 6” or lift with 37-39” tires on 17” wheels and long travel suspension.

Nice rig! The probability that someone siphons your fuel and/ or steals your bed gear is extremely high in an SHTF situation where you will invariably leave your vehicle. The extra headroom is not worth the security liability IMHO. You'd be better served with a DB cover. Your local locksmith can upgrade the stock lock cylinders if you're worried about lock security. A custom Medico (Assa Abloy) cylinder will set you back a few hunsky but its money well spent. Ain't nobody getting in your bed without a grinder and/ or breaker bar. A system is only as good as the weakest link. Food for thought.

As well as that truck is, it’s still depending on the computer. A first or second gen Cummings is better. Fuel for a diesel is not limited to just diesel for the older Cummings engines. But for a bug out truck for me would be a deuce and a half. Multi-fuel manual trans for if battery’s not able to start it can park it on hill and roll start. Very dependable vehicles. Just saying tho.

Those trucks are also just as easy to break into as Honda’s by punching out the lock so you don’t need to be able to see in truck, also that truck is basically telling everyone it has guns inside of it versus a Honda that no one would suspect one in.
