Hi! Thanks for your guidance. Could you tell me if it's okay for inflorescence to go through all phases in a highly humid conditions? I keep my anthurium in the IKEA cabinet where there's a humidifier working from time to time making plants wet (literally everything is wet for some period of time). Won't this humidity/wetness kill all the pollen?

Thank you so much for posting this. I was looking about Anthurium pollination last night. I learned so much now. I am still regretting that I cut the flower of my A. Magnificum while it was forming the berries. I didn't know about it before and I got scared. I though it had some issues. I bought it as it is and usually just let the flowers to dry up. Now I am thinking I miss that oppurtunity and made me sad. However I know what to do next time around and hopefully one will be succesful. ❤🤞

Came across your video while researching to pollinate philodendron. I have a moonlight with three inflorescence out and never tried to pollinate before. question.. you put the stuff in the freezer, do you take it out every day out the freezer? brush it again put it back? and repeat it? do you let the brush etc unfreeze first before you brush it again? im a bit confused.. why not put it in the fridge? if the female only is female a few days? i dont see the smartness in unfreezing freezing u freezing it every day for about 3 days to a week? its easier to freeze it later when pollinatiom is completed if you have left no?

Great video with all the info needed! How old does the plant need to be in order to produce the inflorescence? Also can anthuriums produce mora than one inflorescence a year? Thank you
@leaflifesydney8494
@leaflifesydney8494 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! ☺️ It really depends on how much they've matured, but generally speaking they would probably need to be about 2-3 years old before they produce an inflorescence. And yes absolutely, one of mine has two growing at the exact same time! For most of my anthuriums they grow one inflorescence, then grow another one straight away.

Thank you so much for creating this video! I have been religiously watching my clarinervium bloom, but I never saw it go through the female phase, once it opened up it just started producing pollen on the bottom half shortly after opening. Have you ever seen this happen?
@leaflifesydney8494
@leaflifesydney8494 2 жыл бұрын
My pleasure! 😊 Yes sometimes if the plant is still a little bit 'immature / juvenile' in the reproductive department it can skip the male or female phase! I would collect the pollen it produces now and freeze it for the next time it produces an inflorescence, hopefully next time it won't skip the female phase and you can pollinate it 😊
@ShawnaWalkerPhoto
@ShawnaWalkerPhoto 2 жыл бұрын
@@leaflifesydney8494 thank you so much! I had no idea it would skip a phase, that's really helpful to know. It's slowly producing some pollen, not as much as I expected but I was able to collect a tiny bit a few days ago and I will be able to collect more in a day or two. I also noticed when collecting it that a paint brush wasn't really loosening it enough to fall off, so I think I might have slightly damaged the bottom portion being a little too rough to get that pollen. Any advice on improving my method this next round of collection? 🤗

So i tried to pollinate my anthurium recently, but after the fluid dried up, the pollen (male phase) started to show again. Now i dont know whether the previous pollination has worked or not. Question is, should i collect the pollen off the previously pollinated spadix? Or just leave it be? I really want the berries tbh.
@leaflifesydney8494

would you do a video on growing the seedling specifically? Like how to prevent leggy plant and etiolation n etc. I feel that just like other plants, germination would be the easiest part and actually growing healthy seedling that's strong enough for the house or the outdoors is the toughest part.
