Sowon was actually trained to rap when she was a trainee, she was supposed to be the main rapper in the group. But yeah when Gfriend debuted and went on, it turned out that 95% of their discography didn't have rap, so yeah that rapper role slowly disappeared.

FYI, "maknae" is pronounced "mang-nae". There is a rule in Korean where the trailing "k" (actually a "g") as seen in "mak" becomes pronounced "ng" instead when you have a leading "n" in the next syllable as seen in "nae". Hence, "maknae" (really spelled "magnae") becomes pronounced "mangnae".
