Thank you for the hiking destinations! Yes, heat exhaustion and heat stroke needs to be taken very seriously and although it is important to cool the body, if the cooling is too extreme and/or takes place too rapidly that can cause an entire issue on its own like shock and other things. I live in a desert area of Southern California and unprepared hikers need to be rescued by helicopters and they don't always survive. REI offers classes for people to learn and prepare, like "mountain medicine." I would imagine they also have classes in Oregon. ❤❤🥾🥾🌲🌲

You're welcome. It will be miserable in August 😆 unless you can catch a day in the upper 70s or low 80s... normally August is hot! Misery ridge at 90+ is Misery

Thank you for this video! My friends and I would love to try the todd lake -> brokentop summit hike when we are there in august. We are having a hard time finding that pathway on alltrails - any chance you could help us with what the name of it is on alltrails? Thank you!

I don't want to admit this, but I haven't done that hike either. There's a road that opens in the middle of summer and makes the hike much shorter, but I haven't figured it out yet.
