Love this duo from the 70's. I had their albums. They had a lot of great songs such as "Danny's Song", "House At Pooh Corner", "Thinking Of You", "My Music", "Watching The River Run", "Vahevala", "Lahaina", "Sailin' The Wind", "Pathway To Glory" etc.

Jim Messina had been a successful musician (Buffalo Springfield and also Poco) but wanted to get into producing. A young unknown Kenny Loggins connected with him and convinced Jim to produce him. Jim took this on but also did add his own playing/singing to Kenny’s work. They realized how good that worked out and needed to actually make the band a collaboration between the two. Thus they became Loggins and Messina.

Jim Messina started with Buffalo Springfield then formed Poco with Richie furay....then with Kenny loggins.... Messina was producing Kenny album when they realized they sound great together...

Love Loggins and Messina! They sounded so great in this live performance from 2005. Angry Eyes was originally released in 1972. Lots of great songs from this duo like "Your Mama Don't Dance", "Danny's Song", "Vahevala", "Watching the River Run", etc. Jim Messina is a musician, songwriter, singer, guitarist, recording engineer, and record producer. He is still touring in 2023. Kenny Loggins went on to a very successful solo career. He also had some of the biggest movie songs in the 80's for movies like Caddyshack ("I'm Alright"), Footloose ("Footloose" & "Heaven Help the Man"), and Top Gun ("Playing with the Boys" and "Danger Zone"). He just completed his final tour this month.

Kenny Loggins (singer on the left) was responsible for many of the biggest movie songs of the 80's and 90's including Top Gun and Footloose. The list of hit songs for both of these guys together and separate is very long.

Kenny Logins was the go to guy in 80s, for soundtracks to some iconic movies "Top Gun" "Caddyshack" and " " "Footloose "..plus some killer solo hits, some with Michael MacDonald , from the Doobie Brothers. Rock on kids! ❤

Kenny Loggins is great on his own as well. “Celebrate me home” is usually played around Christmas. You probably have heard it and didn’t know who sang it. Classic!😊

A fantastic classic tune. Loggins and Messina had many great songs like House At Pooh Corner, Danny’s Song, Vahevala , and Watching The River Run!I saw them during a reunion tour about 15 years ago. They were so good even after all those years. Kenny had an even bigger career. His first solo album, Celebrate Me Home, was a fantastic album with the title song and I believe In Love. He had quite a few big duets like Whenever I Call You Friend with Stevie Nicks, This Is It with Michael McDonald singing backup!

"Danny's Song" is the main hit from Loggins & Messina, along with the retro rocker, "Your Mama Don't Dance." I'd never heard "Angry Eyes" before now. A couple other 70s great "and" groups are England Dan & John Ford Coley, Seals & Crofts, and of course Simon & Garfunkel. S&G's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was the best selling album in 1970, 1971, and 1972. Back then, it was the best-selling album of all time. There was also Peaches & Herb, the Captain & Tennille, and maybe a few more.

This was a great reunion performance, but for me it doesn't compare to the raw energy of the live 1970s version. Loggins and Messina were smokin' back in the 70s. Please check out some tunes from a live CD like Back to Georgia Nobody But You Trilogy (3 songs merged) Kenny Loggins vocals on the Trilogy will blow your mind. And the band is on fire!
