People that are hard to shop for: what you gotta do is keep a close uhh.. ear on them, THROUGH OUT the year. Any time they say something throwaway like: ”Damn I really need to buy new scissors, can’t get this damn yarn cut” or ”So many of my dresses get static and cling, so annoying!” or ”I looove this candy” or ”that book x seems really interesting” or ”I should probably start on vitamin D..” or ”it’s so hard to find good hair wax” you listen to people and any time they express they might be interested in something or express a need to replace something or a need for something better you write it down on your phone notes immediately: that way, even if the gift is a bit ”weird”, like anti static spray or vitamin D, it’ll be something they’ll use. I do this, and my friends always wonder how I know what everyone likes. The funniest one was when I had a friend who had a rant to me about how all the toilet brushes in the market have such a short handle that you have to have your whole darn arm in the toilet bowl to scrub it. So I ordered him a couple toilet brushes with an extra long handle online. He loved the present and we got a good laugh from the surprise :D

Bea! When my husband and I were looking for houses two years ago we totally toured one that was haunted! It was a complete fixer upper (something my husband really wanted) and it was the last house on our list for the day so the sun was just starting to set by the time we got there. My husband was totally enthralled with looking at the (beautiful) bones of the house, but I passed the stairs that led to the basement and got a very visceral feeling and the instant thought I had was "I am NOT going down there." Like five seconds after, the agent said "do you feel that?" My hubby and I stopped and I watched his face fall. We have never felt like getting out of a house faster in our whole lives. I still shiver thinking about it. Later the agent said he's only experienced that three times in his whole career. I think when a house is haunted, you know.

Yes! This book was super helpful for me. She also had a podcast at one point. I loved that the approach was that it was misfiring of the brain as opposed to I need to solve all my trauma. Still working on trauma, but no more bingeing.

@@schroekate what I really liked about Brain over Binge is that it explains how you can be a strong person on one hand and then have this problem on the other. Learning to recognize and negotiate with my ‘animal brain’ (called mine The Beast’) really helped. Previous approaches seemed to come from the perspective that I was broken and I didn’t feel broken overall, just stuck in a loop on the bingeing. Good luck!

You never know....I had planned to start looking for a home next summer so was just saving money towards next summer. Then a place came available that was perfect for me in every way in November. Bam! I signed today and move in on 30 December. So, you never know. I"m so happy for you! As far as Christmas presents for minimalists (I'm a minimalist) buy what my family calls consumables or experiences---wine, soap, lotions, spa gift certificate, museum memberships etc.

We sort of regret buying a home this year, honestly. It was expensive for what it is so just be careful! Back out after inspection if anything is amiss and don't feel pressured by the market. We needed to move states and had a firm deadline, and we really settled. Bleh. Happy to watch all those ads for you and good luck!

Something that has helped me is setting a timer for my meals. I'll set a 20 minute timer or something (depending on the meal size) just so I don't scarf my meal down, and so I am more present and so I actually enjoy the food

It's really cool that you show everything,even the setbacks and struggles and cry moments. while others with their from fat to thin journeys with the giant changes are motivational ,I miss the relateable part a lot. they always seem to just DO IT and boom,done. I do stuff for a week, stick to the diet, do an arm workout and gain half a kg wondering why life treats me like this. so seeing someone else struggle (even if it's a different kind of struggle) makes me feel less embarrassed and bad about myself not being like those other ones who just get it done like it's nothing. I am nicer to myself thanks to your videos and I hope the messages of other do at least a small portion to you what you give others with your videos.
