The good thing about them is, they still get to be normal people outside of their idol work and can freely date whoever they want
@mahogara5 ай бұрын
I just found out about them and I just have to say I agree with you. Even as idols, I feel like they have more freedom and are a lot more genuine (which is ironic because we're seeing mocap virtually created characters) based on the few videos I have binged since I've came across their fanarts on Tumblr the previous evening. I don't know I just find them uniquely charming, even their glitches (technical difficulties)are adding to their charms. I've never been into anything virtual arts (from Miku to the Vtubers) but I think Plave is the exception for me.
@ya3_m1k035 ай бұрын
@@mahogaraAlso their interactions feel very natural and genuine between most Of them from when they just debut because they all had some kind of connection with each other before even become a group.

This. Kinda funny how everytime there were kpop stans who dragged PLAVE, they were also the same one who complained about sasaeng and idol privacy. They also dragged plave with accusations like "they're bunch of ugly cowards who hide behind handsome avatars", which only prove that people mostly look at visuals than talents. It's too funny to see them complains that kpop nowadays are all about visuals and less idols who has real talents, but when there is 'anonymous' group that try to emphaaize on their real talents and personality, the first thing they bash is visual. Peak of hypocrisy within kpop.
@mahogara4 ай бұрын
@@rhiene_choii I totally agree. Sorry, Long rant on coming. They always complain about how kpop industry is all based on appearances and big money/ power , and how it's oversaturated with everyone doing the same thing (not to mention the whole argument about copying concepts....nobody owns a concept, physical style or fashion! Honestly, a lot has been done by 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens....if someone who popularised a concept, style is the only one who is allowed to use it, G-dragon should be getting a lot of money from suing every kpop groups/agencies and idols. Maybe VIXX too for a lot of their concepts which essentially elevated kpop from the usual generic concepts). They always are going on a preaching rant about how kpop fans have to call out the industry more and how there should be more people changing the game. But they also don't like it when something different from the usual status co / norm happen. By attacking the visuals of a group of people they've never even seen, instead of actually listening to the music, and shitting on a small company who is taking a risk with new venture (and then hopefully opening a new door for more people to achieve their dreams in the future), they are essentially contributing to the very toxic side of the industry they're supposedly against. I've seen some comments about how the Plave members are hiding behind a mask and just acting....are those people actually listening to the words that're coming out of their mouths? Do they believe that actual in flesh idols are not putting on a professional mask and acting too? more so because those flesh idols are putting their real faces out there, so they're being scrutinize and judge for every second they're in public and on screens. So none of those fans have no idea what those in flesh idols are actually like in private and not on screens. Honestly, kpop actually has so many holier than thou and hypocritic fans - we can see it by how their tunes change depending on who they're talking about (if their fave has done something bad, it's fine but if some idol they don't like has done the exact same thing, that idol should be dropped off the earth and the whole industry needs to change ). I actually rather fans who openly be shallow and admit that they only care about physical appearances and openly be toxic (then you know what you're getting and you can avoid them) than fans who go on and on about how toxic kpop industry is and then contribute to the toxicity in the next breath. Also, just a side not but I love what William said on a press conference about Plave's success being the humanism behind it. Vlast clearly knew what people's concern and dislikes about advancing technologies and virtual arts are and they did their best to bring humanity into it.

That’s all thanks to the tech company they’re signed under! VLAST have worked in VFX and their technology is certainly amazing. What’s even better is they can improve the rigging and mocap as they go along because Plave are practically testing the equipment every week with their lives and the people responsible for the tech actually work there. Some streamers exclusively use vtuber models and so protect their privacy, others have models they use occasionally, for when they just don’t want to be on cam. I wonder if something like this might become prevalent in kpop? Like some virtual-only idols, and some doing both. No one knows the future. Either way these guys are definitely pioneers, as far as I know they’re the first idols that use mocap? The models are very aesthetic, the lighting and coloring look pretty! And it’s great that they are good at singing and dancing too

But let's be real, kpop industry has ridiculous and stupid ass beauty standards and evn if these guys are not ugly at all and are pretty much handsome, at least for us... If they're not fitting in the perfect almost unreachable image that koreans have of beauty, we both know they wouldn't get as much attention, which is sad. I'm genuinely saying this solves that impossible "beauty standard" problem that is expected from idols most of the time. So no, this is the problem with text conversation, tones are very important to know the intention in someone's comments 🙁
