The reason subash fell was because the pit was camouflaged by the leafs and he wasn't paying attention. Also there are multiple pits like that all around that aren't discovered yet so its a restricted area no one is allowed to go

0:41 That scene has given trauma to all of us who watched it in theater. The theater experience was so good that most of the people have watched it more than 1or 2 times in the theater. This is something to experience in a theater with your friends. It's a Malayalam movie for Kerala but it was much more celebrated in Tamil naadu.

17:19 Thats the thing, the cave has many holes. As u saw in the beginning when they walked in there were many covered holes. When he fell in it was covered so u couldnt see the hole, thats why so many people died because it just looks like flat ground but really there is danger everywhere

It's portrayed that way, but in the real incident the hole was not covered. Probably the old gates were removed, and new ones were on the way and delayed. They jumped over that, hole one by one, as it was just a little wide than 1ft. Subash while jumping slipped and fell in.

How come Subash didn't fall any further? Because remember when he took his brother's belt and left for the trip? That belt caught on a stone and that's how he didn't fall any further

This movie traumatized me too. I couldn't sleep that night & couldn't stop thinking of it for a week. After knowing the real story was even more scary, the police brutality was even worst i couldn't stop thinking about them for longer, I went & watching it again in theatre, first time i watched a movie twice in theatre. My favourite one from this year.

7:35 what happened in this scene was subhash(the person stuck in the pit) in his childhood saved kannan(who enters the pit for subhash) from drowning , in the previous scene with his childhood it was shown how subhash is scared to jump but when his friends support him he jumps and when one of his friend(kannan) was not seen he jumps in the water overcoming his fear and kanna who was saved wants to do something similar so he enters the pit now overcoming his fears.
