I've watched David Letterman since I was a kid and always loved his genuine sense of humor. In my opinion, he's a living legend of late night television.

I am so goddam puzzled about the Kim Kardasian thing. 80s Dave would have hated her. I watched the episode and she did NOT impress. So narcissistic, and how impressed should we be that she spends 20 (!) hours a week studying law??? I read 100 pages of case law a day in law school. She is deadly boring.

I have loved Dave since I first discovered him doing a stand up routine. He was portraying a news anchor who says the end of the world is here, but first does your cat ever make this sound. Then he proceeds to imitate a cat coughing up a hairball. I died laughing. It was the funniest thing I ever saw. I always said it didn't matter who the guest was on Letterman~you tuned in for Dave. Wish they'd do a compilation of all the Jungle Jack Hanna visits and Dave's specials, like the velcro wall. I'm happy that I saw both shows in person a few times. Good memories!!

did you ever see his morning talk show in the 70's? mid morning and his humor didn't mix for many people. they're waiting for the soap operas to begin and letterman was letterman and was too much for 10am. but i loved it and learned to really respect letterman for being the very smart, funny guy that he just is.

Funny. I was just talking to my wife about these stupid calls we get early in the morning. My solution was to ask who they are calling for. Then I would say hold on and I'll go get her/him, then leave the phone on the table until they hang up. I figure I can waste his time and spare others from his calls.

I've been watching Letterman since as long as I can remember. Growing up with my father (not be allowed to watch TV except PBS, and two other shows), and being allowed to watch Dave on Friday Night was something I cherished. When I hit H.S. - my father would record on VHS - the weeks episodes for me. Oh how I miss you Dad... You would just giggle like a schoolgirl at all the technology today. You were my everything.

I believe he lives in a real old house in Montana (?) I can't imagine redecorating is high on his list of interests or priorities.

@bella rose Totally agree being a black person myself and having read the bible where it is obviously noted. However I was basing it off the pictures that has been thrust on us.

Dave loves and cares about people and it was a treat to seem with J. So fun to hear that 80's humor again. That iPhone case is definitely a 'stupid people trick.'

Talking about Regis.... Makes me sad to think Letterman will leave us someday. I’m 44 and used to spend many hours laughing with Dave and Paul. After a bad day you could go to sleep in a good mood.
