Tha k you for the pontificating always think the same where ever I travel nice to think about. Just remember this do it for the right reasons because where ever you go there you are. Always run to something not away from something.

Started anew in '92. I never regretted my choice. Almost 32 years later and the roots have grown deep. Excellent video.

It's nice having a home base where I can see my kids and grandkids whenever I want, but the more I watch your videos (and a few others) I seem to be justifying my desired wanderlust. I've been retired for less than a year and getting the well over 50 years of being tied to a job out of my head has been a bit of a process. We'll see what happens next, maybe I'll see you on the river someday.

I moved to Oquawka 30 years ago and built a house and I'm still here . Oquawka is a great little town right on the Great Mississippi River 👍 😊

You're right Brenton, the Midwest is a good deal. (if you stay out of the big cities.)

It would suite me to do something like that. BTW: I hope you and Wavey had a good Thanksgiving my friend.

If I were starting over as a young person (I'm retired now) I would get whatever education/training needed to make a living online. Live on the road, traveling with the seasons as I do now. I wouldn't work just enough to get by, but work my behind off, 50-60 hrs/week, holidays and weekends until I reached F.I.R.E. Without rent or a mortgage, this could be done in 15-20 years. At this point, the world is your oyster.

It’s hard for the now generation to grasp this concept of slowing down and saving for a home it’s got to have it now attitude puts them into debt for housing and new cars and boats they can’t wait and in turn they never get to enjoy life or each other. There is great satisfaction in not being in debt and working on your own homes and cars and seeing the progress.

Nailed it ^^^ I'd add, the economy is so broken now, they want us all displaced off the land now. "You'll own nothing, and be happy." --some NWO tyrant

That is fantastic! In rural areas, that's enough to get started.
