Being someone who has grown up in the Middle East, and has Israeli and Palestinian friends I really appreciate the initiative you are taking to document your travel whilst remaining unbiased and authentic. Not a lot of foreigners go to Palestine or even consider it a country anymore, so you doing sheds light on many preconceived notions that people may have on Palestine and what the people are like. I’m just so happy that you and Jo aren’t those basic travel vloggers that only do it for the hopes of having a bomb instagram feed, and are genuinely curious about travel and learning! Not only because I’m Arab and this is an issue I deeply care about, but because as human beings we can’t be afraid to speak about sensitive issues. And I’m so proud that you didn’t get scared to talk about this or worry about causing controversy or hate on the channel or your own social media accounts. Looking forward to more ❤️❤️

Watching this video made me so happy that someone like you had the audacity to address an issue like this yet still without directly offending either side. Thank you for not looking past this and for being curious💛

I wish you had spoken to some young Palestinians in this video. It seems like a lot of the opinions you got in your Israel video were from young Israelis who are more likely to have a different opinion from, say someone whos the age of the cab drivers you talked to. Talking only to older Palestinians made this video feel less relatable to people outside of both countries, considering you talked about the cub scene etc in your Israel video. This one just seemed like it was about the wall and the settlements, and I would have liked to see how people our ages live in Palestine, and compare and contrast it with those living in Israel.

The young generation a oid getting education, they waste their time to hate and make problems.

that's cuz Israelis generally speak more English and are more talkative. Plus, he's a travel blogger, not a political activist.

@@user-rv7ge1tc4l And you've never asked why Palestinians speak less English and are less talkative? Taking what you wrote as true.
@user-rv7ge1tc4l4 жыл бұрын
@@EnglishwithFaty because the Hamas does not see teaching English as an important part of the education system in Palestine. And I don't know their psychology, I just know that Israelis are extremely talkative people. I don't see your point hun. There are clear cultural differences

I genuinely got so many goosebumps throughout this, what you've done is incredible, I am actually on the verge of crying because this is so important, the way you showcased the incident from both sides really gave us a deep understanding of what is going on, and for that Damon Dominic, I applaud you

This was great, and I agree that not enough people are being objective about this conflict. Everyone deserves to live in peace and live where they choose to. As someone who grew up with Native American teachings land disputes are always a rough thing for me. The land doesn't belong to anyone, everyone simply has a duty to invest in the place they call home and give it respect. These lands give us so much, and because of that we shouldn't be denying others the right to live and find growth in a land they choose to call home. That being said causing bloodshed, violence, producing hate, forcibly removing others from these places to call it yours or to live there isn't right. There is never really a right and a wrong in life, and if everything was that black and white so many conflicts or "wrongs" in this world would have quick and swift punishments. On to other things, how did you react to the sea? You were lookin' fiiiiine in dem shorts boo! Imagine if Tinder was open to both sides and people just had dates at the wall talk about peaceful resistance. Was there someplace you found the most beautiful or most interesting that wasn't in the video? And your black and white joke at the end made me laugh. Thanks for the video and as always in all the videos produced on this channel going through things with an open mind. Some people said you should think about travel journalism in the premiere comments and I would agree, you could do that really well and still keep the current format you're comfortable with.
@DamonAndJo5 жыл бұрын
You spent TIME on that comment and I appreciate it ❤️ For the entire time in Israel and Palestine, I kept thinking of how similar it was/is in terms of the Native American land. Every time I explained the situation to friends and family, I used that example. In terms of my favorite place or moment, I can truly say that the Banksy Walled Off Hotel was just so crazy fascinating to me. That, and when I met the German family in my dorm. I honestly want to go to Berlin and hang out with them! The only issue I have with traditional travel journalism is that there isn't much room for jokes, as some subjects are extremely sensitive. I enjoy making this type of content, but I also love making lighthearted, feel-good content! Thank you again for leaving such an in-depth comment. We try to read comments every day! 😬

My family is based in Ramallah. It is a literal journey trying to get to Jerusalem from Ramallah due to all the checkpoints enforced by the Israeli government. I’m an American citizen and every time we crossed a checkpoint, my relatives living in Palestine were severely interrogated and taunted by Israeli soldiers and when I tried to intervene after noticing some of them speak english, I would be questioned on what my motives were for visiting Palestine. It’s just sad that this is a daily occurrence for Palestinians
@sarabella80935 жыл бұрын
SarahK23 just try to understand their point. If they didn’t have these checkpoints and they didn’t check Palestinian cars, do you know how many terrorist attacks and Israelis killed there would be? I know people who are soldiers at the checkpoint and they tell me how every single day there are Palestinian cars trying to come into Israel with weapons hidden in the trunk, knives hidden in Pringle boxes, and the army found out that those same Palestinians were planning to do terror attacks. All Israel wants to do is protect its citizens, and we have the right to.

Sara Bella ok no, this is the most idiotic comment I’ve read. To begin with, you acknowledge the fact that Israel has and continues to build illegal settlements on land that belongs to Palestinians. In addition, you make ironic accusations against Palestinians claiming that WE are the ones stabbing “innocent” Israelis when in fact the opposite is true. Israel continues to implement genocide against tried and true innocent Palestinians and has been since 1948 so please get your facts in check and keep your delusional, fragmented, and falsely accusatory Israeli propaganda tf out of my mentions. Thank you, next.

I like how Damon tries to really understand both side without any biases. The only way to understand and find suitable solutions about this issue is to talk to the people that are directly concerned about it. Walk through the cities, talk with different people about their lifes, their dreams, their problems... That's how you form your point of view! Once again: great videos! Love from France ;)

18:12 the UN has actually denounced oppressive israeli tactics 19:17 "what do you do for fun" is such an intense question to ask someone who is probably spending most of his days in straight-up survival mode. imagine the way trauma and tension have settled into his bones over the years. his response ("WORK") immediately made me think of maslow's hierarchy of needs.
