I have a K1 and from the moment I turned it on I only had perfect prints. One thing is that many problems mentioned by reviewers (like the door slamming in the display, the chain unlocking the filament, need to raise the acrylic lid, etc...) they don't occur on my printer, so it may be that you tested a unit from an older batch.
@williamblaes6784 Жыл бұрын
I don't know why but I've honestly been very successful on my K1 without applying any glue to the plate. The only thing I've noticed with adhesion is that after about 3 or 4 prints it'll get a "oily" shine where repetitive prints overlapped. I just wash it with soap/water and a sponge and it seems to get rid of that contamination. Got about 100 print hours on it now. The extruder on it is crap though, whatever metal they used on the original units seems to slowly start bending over time. I've rebuilt mine twice now taking a pair of plyers to the extruder gears to bend them back into position. Supposedly the $3 upgrade kits fix this but only time will tell...

So bought my K1 about 4 months ago from Amazon as they randomly get them in and fulfilled by Amazon. It came in perfect shape and with the exception of the provided slicer I have had zero issues and have run through about 4 spools of eSun PLA+. I did buy the Ender 5 PEI plate as I really like that texture but so far every print has been 100% ( when sliced correctly...note Creality Print is buggie ). I am coming from a Lulzbot so I am used to a machine that is built like a tank and can print for days with no issues. I am very happy with the example I got and would not hesitate to buy another....if coming direct from Amazon.

A problem with the Bambulab's printers is that they don’t ships those worldwide yet, and if you could find one it’s literally the double of the price ($1100 - $1500 USD in Chile for example) and in that point it’s just worthless in comparison with the K1 that conserve the original price 😔
@gamingscorpionindia1995 Жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you. Not every buyer is from USA or UN so not everyone can get bambulabs and also they are shit when it comes to privacy. Atleast creality have made it's printer firmware open-source so users can work their magic on THEIR printer
@smashman98357 ай бұрын
Same here, the P1P is over double the price of the K1 so not remotely comparable.
@TJ-fb9kw Жыл бұрын
I will most likely get the k1 on a Black Friday deal, maybe a k1 max. The bed adhesion and the noise problems are minor and both printers are pretty much the same there. I'm more concerned about the proprietary replacement parts for the P1P, the connection issues, and the privacy concerns. The full enclosure, the ability to print many types of filaments, and the touch screen on the k1 are great features. for the P1P the ability to upgrade it for printing multiple colors or print out your own side walls is great, but I'd prefer the enclosure and I always paint my prints so I don't care much for printing in multiple colors. I'm in no rush so I'll let the companies change my mind if they can. my friend/co-worker has the P1P he uses glue for the bed and has also had some trouble with failed prints, so that's not a deciding factor for me. both of these machines are beasts and I'll continue to look into reviews, before a purchase.
@viktor67990 Жыл бұрын
Agree about different colors. You can basically paint, what's the problem? Always thought that second filament is for dissolving supports only. Enclosure is much useful, as printing abs is just something you can't ignore in long-term use. Considering price tag here, in Ukraine, p1p is no option for 1200+ usd. Ordering proprietary parts is not as easy as regular ones. Plus you can always tinker with creality. Bought a few PrintBite+ surface many years ago for adhesion and never had problems since then. Still does its job.

@astrophysicistguy Жыл бұрын
@@momo_the_great6969 everything is a trade off … color is irreverent to me and everything i make gets a coat of primer and then painted in some fashion but I’ve many many ‘multicolor’ parts without issue when i needed to change rolls in the middle of a large print because i had used up all of a roll, you simple hit pause, unload, load new filament, restart, done. Their new slicer s/w now allows to to program in color changes automatically. As for speed that’s always a trade off vs print quality. I’m way more interested in the print coming off the bed ready to prime then how fast it printed and requiring a bunch of sanding. All my prints are done at .15mm and very rarely are they NOT ready to prime when coming off the bed. I’ve seen some of these ‘fast’ prints and compared to what mine look like coming off the bed - well I’ll take mine every time. I know everyone seems fascinated by the latest ‘shiny object’ - speed but I’m never in a hurry or trying to go into production so quality is 10x more important than speed to me

Not many mods for these printers yet, but looking at fan mods for the noisy fans brought me to this video. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes for Creality's K1. I bought a CR-200B as my first 3D printer and it really soured me on Creality and 3D printing in general. I still have it boxed up in pieces and need to put the parts on eBay one day as not many spare parts are available. I got a single good print off of it, then never another successful print. Something wasn't right with the single screw Z Axis, unsupported setup, it varied greatly on back-to-back auto-leveling sessions. I took another chance on Creality with an open-box CR6-SE for $137 at Microcenter a year ago. Literally it was opened and returned, never being removed from the box, it still had all the peel-off plastic on the bed and display, all the screws in bags, etc. So I took a chance getting the SR6-SE for $137 instead of $400. It gave me hope, the CR6-SE has been a great printer, just slow but enough on that. I was all set to buy the Bambu Lab X1 with the filament box when this printer came on the market for a little over 1/3 of the X1's cost. The P1P wasn't an option for me as I didn't want an open frame and the basic LCD display as I do everything from the front panel of the printer. I took a chance on the Creality again because of the return policy and I've had nothing but good prints since. I have had a couple of failed prints but these were small parts (clips) that had no first layer brim to help hold them down. It's strange that you mentioned you didn't get a glue stick, mine came with one. But I did replace the glue based plate with an aftermarket Creality spring steel with the textured surface, for the Ender 5 that has the locating cutouts at the rear so it's a perfect match and it's eliminated my need for using glue. It set me back $20 and I'm happy with it. The only real complaint I have is that I have to use the packaged slicer. Hopefully someone comes out with some Cura profiles soon. The Creality modified version of the slicer is very poor IMO in the supports compared to running generic Cura on my CR6-SE. Once that gets ironed out, I'll be perfectly happy with the unit for just over 1/3 of the price. I'm no professional, I don't print large volume things like the helmet you showed. I got into the hobby to make replacement parts like spacers, sleeves for bolts, brackets, enclosures, and printer improvements so my experience is likely much different than most hobbyists. So based on my needs, I'm happy that this Creality printer is doing for me for $600, what I was ready to spend $1200 on a Bambu, actually $1500 (because why not get the filament box?).

The real test will be in Sept when Creality will release the K1 firmware to open source. An enclosed printer capable of 300-600mm/s that can be modified, tweaked, improved and repaired will be the real game changer. Once the flood gates open on upgrades it could be amazing. My Ender2v2 has been one click printing flawlessly for over a year entirely due to the community surrounded by it, parts available and information out there. A lot of us are turned off the Bambu because it’s locked down. I lost interest in the K1 and K1Max after I contacted Creality directly. They confirmed that they have no intention to allow for an AMS style multi-filament selector, and the build volume on the K1 won't print to the edges due to what I refer to as the buffer zone, similar to the rest of Creality printers and the K1 Max has a larger print bed(only plus over the Bambu Labs printers), but again, the buffer zone around the bed cuts it down. I like the Bambu P1P, P1S, or X1C with an AMS for the cost and functionality. Don't get me wrong, I like Creality, they have been the flagship of the 3D print world for a while, and I've owned several, but I've quickly grown partial to my Bambu printers.

you can't use the test print they usually deliver with the machine, they've tinkered with it and fine-tuned it so it looks perfect when it's finished. the challenge comes when inexperienced users have to use a slicer and then print and they normally cannot understand why their print fails or does not look good, their slicer could also need an upgrade and others have had worse results by using a different slicer however with some challenges to get it to work, so I hope that other slicers like prusa and cura orca implement k1 and that creality corrects the errors the printer has.

I ordered a K1 max but the Lidar is absolutely fake does not do anything make sure your K1 Max has properly tensioned z -belts as its has problems of being lose AF. The P1S is a good choice as a its enclosed and bigger build volume than the K1. I cant wait for a Bambu large format printer

Not to point out the obvious, but the elephant in the room is that Bambulab's privacy policies are just terrible.

Certain stores are selling it 200 dollars off. Would you say its worth it for 400?

In the current market, would you recommend getting a faster printer (e.g. Neptune 4 Pro), or sticking to an older, slower model with a larger volume (e.g. a Neptune 3 Plus)?

The menustructure on the display looks nearly identical to the bambu x1c's... tbh the whole printer looks like a bambu clone

You gonna talk about the P1S by chance?

Man, my son and I have loved the ender3max neo we got and have perfect adhesion with the stock glass plate

I think glue is still a useful tool regardless of the build plate. I use G10, PEI and glass, and ALL of them sometimes need a little glue stick to prevent some models from warping.

I have to disagree. I’ve ran 20-30 various printers with glass beds, textured, pei and more. Never need glue

@@FranklyBuiltthat's where I'm at....my stuff sticks too good. It's a pain sometimes to get the model off without breaking it or marking it some how. I mean glass, stock sheets, that pei stuff or whatever. I'm just glad I'm getting some usable prints. Took me a while to get it right. And I've got 3 printers....2 ender 3 s1 and an ender 3 max neo.

@@FranklyBuilt never need it ever? Like not even for particular models? I don’t normally need it with the G10 but when I was trying to print an upside down sliding box (so only the outer cover-side 3 edges of the box were touching the build plate) I got a significant enough amount of warping to use glue stick. But maybe my bed was too hot or something. I did notice once when I accidentally printed PLA under PETG settings (like an 80° bed) that it warped like crazy, which made me realize that too hot of a bed can cause warping as much as bad first layer adhesion can. But I’ve always had to have my bed higher than recommended (usually 69°) for good first layer adhesion (though it is a pretty twisty bed)

@@buckrodgers770 are you letting them cool all the way before removing? If that’s not enough and your bed plate is removable but not flexible, I’ve stuck them in the freezer before too and that helped on the really tough ones. (Usually only had that issue with wide flat models on textured PEI)

So... Bed adhesion is usually levelling and how clean the bed is? They actually say to use gluestick? Thats horrifying. High speed printing will definitely be affected by the nozzle hitting a warped print. You need good bed adhesion to print this fast. I am glad I watched this. I can neither have a loud printer, nor an unreliable one that needs gluesticks.

I found this similar experience with my Creality Adventurer 3. Your channel has helped me fix so many prints! Do you use the Creality Sonic Pad? I'm curious if it really works as advertised. Also what printer is in the bottom left corner?

i think something important to remember - your first experience with the p1p. remember how awful that was and how it would refuse to work? now it's great. give the k1 a chance. i think the fact that it is fully enclosed, with a touch screen, and in my opinion looks much more professional and industrial, makes it a compelling choice over the p1p.
