Seymour walks a fine line, if it is a line at all. Marc hit it on the head around 17:00. Its a bit sad, or sick ... I am heartened by the pro-votes for Maori wards in councils around the motu that are being reported atm. But the great majority (yes!) of councils are going to have to fork out for referenda,, because of this - race-baiting - govt coalition. ... A good podcast, thanks. I have strong political opinions but do not follow politics slavishly. I always learn stuff here.

Yes I was happly pleased, Iooks like most Council's will retain. It's a good step forward. I don't think the Government would be pleased.

Good points on speed limits. Speed bumps are good. The discussion on ethnic matters was, as usual, straight out of Wonderland.

@@djhemirukahemisphere8893 funny that. You now have kings and queens. You now love living the Westminster lives and possessing all the chattles of the modern world that the other 159 races have bought with them. But you TPM and elite radical activist maori show the least aroha of all to all other nzers. I'm surprised that any of you can lay straight in bed or even get to sleep for that matter with the amount of deliberate misinformation that you bandy around to create devision.

@@MaryAda-wj3dy As a white guy I have from time to time been included in a general chit-chat with other white NZers and some of the comments made about Maori are astounding, e.g I moved from Wanganu., which is about 30% Maori/ Polynesian to Warkworth , I noted there where next to no Maori people in the area, I asked a local as to why I haven't seen many Maori or Polynesian people in the area, he said " no, if you see a Maori here, he's either go to or leaving a crime scene " . There's racism in NZ and the way you talk is common among white entitled people, who pretends everyone is treated the same, has the same equal opportunities and so on, but It's a lie, racism is alive and widespread.

Who advised David Seymour to speak on the paepae. It was excruciating. Winston whose te reo or lack thereof is never made public did not. Tama Potaka can try and justify the coalitions positions all day but nothing can hide this government's absolute lack of any kind of mana.

Mana. What's that these days. Elite tribal radical Maori and TPM are definitely the worst at practising it with their racist im special I'm better than you attitudes. You have no idea what you are talking about. Most Maori dont support those views. Problem is you got to use to Lucida loose wheels throwing money and policy at you which by the way is racism in itself. Because of these paternalistic hand outs TPM and elite radical maori think the tax payer should continue to support this. Well news flash, work hard yourself earn what you own and appreciate you live in s democracy that allows this.

I think it's (the irreverent tone) more to do with a lot of people thinking that with the state of our country presently, how anyone wanting to have a serious discussion about the seriousness of our pothole and speed bump issue, perhaps shouldn't be taken too seriously given the pressing nature of some of our more serious problems.
@lilyfuzz12 ай бұрын
actually it's cuts to health staffing etc that are more likely to slow down the arrival of an ambulance or fire engine. Police absorbed with gang patch wearing etc than there perhaps being a speed bump on the road.
@warwickcarpenter36302 ай бұрын
Hopefully the speed humps will seriously reduce / negate the need for emergency vehicles for road incidents.

Mark. Here's an example when necessity not greed designs a power grid. Recently Deutsche Welle News Ukraine covered a story on the strategic move to solar+ batteries in Ukraine with a goal of making an "unbreakable power grid" through decentralised generation. National and local governments are incentivising solar uptake for critical infrastructure like hospitals but also highrise apartment buildings to communities to individual homes. Also over 300 grid scale solar farms are being built. Solar+battery build out is happening at pace!
