That is actually shit plugin, and you could already do that 5 years ago, with things like sting acid patterns/bass lines cuthulu and others... This is no different from that and actually the end product its worst that what a expirienced producer can do. So we definatelly not there yet.

Is it really AI? Seems like a melody generator. In the 1990's I had an old Casio keyboard with a "song bank". You hit the button and it would play the in-built songs. This plugin seems like a dynamic version of that. Generates melodies probably by having a song bank as a reference point, that's why you can choose genres like on my old Casio keyboard. Still a cool plugin but nothing too revolutionary. I think when a real AI Bass Generating plugin gets made it'll generate bass lines by listening to your music, just like a human bass player. The problem is, these true AI plugins of the future could possibly be massive in size, space requirement and resource usage because of all the reference material, training data and processing power they'll need.

I can only see this as the last step to destroy the metier of makig/playing music. Maybe I might sound a grumpy old man ( only 44 though😂) but been playing/ making/and still studying music, I can only see this as the end of creativity. Might be wrong though, hope to be wrong. Good to see there are still plenty of kids wanting to master an instrument/studio techniques/ synthesis etcetera, and hope, ones we are over the "inovating aspect" of AI, there will be a revival of complete human made and performed music. Ah, maybe it´s just because I´m a bassplayer😂 Love the channel and what you do, grts from Belgium!

I'm a bass player (among other things) and there's nothing wrong with people using tools to produce music. It's been 20 years rich people who can't play a note build $10K modular rigs to produce "unattended generative" music, ie. the machine "creates" the music, and everybody thinks it's so cool. Yet you slap the "AI" name in front of something everyone can get and have fun with and everybody goes into big pretentious "the end of art" talks. Classism at its best. And also, since when being able to technically play an instrument made you 'creative' ? So many decent instrument players can't write or produce anything worth a damn.

@@SlikkTim Speaking of generative music, Mozart and Beethoven used Alberti bass, Serialists used algorithms to create tone rows, Jazz musicians used contrafacts, early rock musicians were just stealing blues. it's not a new thing, and ultimately the capability to play the electric bass or keyboard being a barrier to creating a great song STOPS creativity. Don't be selfish or a gatekeeper. Maybe the greatest songwriter ever is going to use a generated bassline to compose their masterpiece of lyricism. Who cares

the misconception about A.I. is clearly visible. Where is the training data for those 'A.I.' generated midi notes? There is none. It is just a randomized bunch of notes in a specific key. It could be A.i. if you had a beat, melody, chord progression and then the bass is generated based on the analysis of that but for now, i believe this plugin has nothing to do with A.I.
