Dude I just watched a couple of your videos and I regret not watching them earlier! Thank you for this!

Cheers Richie. Bit of an old video but just picked this up for £16 off Plugin Boutique. Was thinking would be good for drums and wondering how I could use it with Scaler and you answered all my questions in this vid.

Ive watched this video 3 times now.best video on riffer, way deeper than other riffer videos, I hope they come your way with $ for their chord vst. Other people reviewing this looked like they never loaded it up before lol.

I did the tutorial videos for Chordjam on the AudioModern channel, it's brilliant plugin that I would have bought anyway!

Lol. I saw your video like 4 hours after I left the comment, I'm going to empty my wishlist and click your links to add them to my basket, will that get you the proper credit if I do it that way? I just want to make sure you get affiliate credit for the purchases
@DirtySecretz3 жыл бұрын
@@bloodcell6282 Thanks! Yes most of the links I put in the descriptions of my video are affiliate links where possible, they help fund and support the channel. Doesn't cost any more for you and the links are usually the cheapest place to get them but it does help me out :)

Yeah this plug-in is the best for creating melodies and riffs. The randomize feature makes the sound really lively and not stale. I use it for piano solos or background riffs.

Looks really dope, I have 100 ideas how to twist it, use it already. I can see it really speeding up your process. Love the idea of feeding it through Scaler.

@@DirtySecretz awesome man looking forward to it! You've provided some really cool techniques to fall back on when in need of some ideas and it's been really helpful!

Pretty cool. You can actually do most of what this plugin offers as well within vanilla Ableton, albeit it being more complicated to set up yourself. Plenty of downloadable examples out there though, of ingenious rack chains that have been made by Ableton users to randomly generate notes within all sorts of adjustable parameters.

Definitely, I’ve used quite a few but none really have worked as well as this one for me though. Got so many M4L devices just sitting in my collection gathering dust lol

Isn’t it great, most of the other plugins in their catalogue are also worth checking out. The only thing I didn’t really understand about this video was the integration with scaler. I thought scaler would have done all of this by itself?

Do we even need humans to write music? :) Scalar and Riffer seem pretty cool for idea generation.
@DirtySecretz3 жыл бұрын
As AI is getting better and better by the day maybe not. There may be a time when commercial pop tracks write themselves but music will never be without musicians. These kind of tools are great for additional help, they won't write a track for you - what you do with them is essentially the creative human part still.

I got Riffer recently and was unsure about it but this tutorial made it look sooo easy so thanks for that! The Scaler 2 trick is pretty awesome but don't have it (yet); would it work with Captain Chords do you know? Thanks again for the demo ;-)
@DirtySecretz3 жыл бұрын
I imagine it would work with captain chords, certainly Captain Play. Anything that can take midi really so you can keep chaining stuff together!
@danielribeiro46184 жыл бұрын
Seems very cool and good to stay also in Key. My questions are : is this generating just 8 Bar? What if I want to change some notes in the track, is that possible or do I have to generate multiple midi channels that play that changed piece ob baseline?
@DirtySecretz4 жыл бұрын
I had it on the default 16 step setting but I believe you can go up to 64 steps (32 bars) - not sure, I haven't needed to use it.

Hy Plugins 16x3v2. Free and does the exact same thing. Even better because u can run completely in random mode, just revord the midi notes it lays down and keep it he bar u like, it's toooooo easy. Did I mention free?.

That's impressive for free, although the interface does look super complicated - think some might appreciate Riffer for it's simplicity though (I do)

OMG, why this interface is so dark. Even on the video when it is zoomed in, it seems very unreadable. (except the middle gray part). If there any color customization (especially font colors) ? This company certainly have no skills to design readable and usable interface :-(
