I enjoyed this. To make him run upright, the fitness score could include some measure of how upright he stays, like % of time hair-color pixels appear in the upper part of the screen.

the best part is that when I finished QWOP, my tactic was to have a leg stretched and be on a knee for the whole run... the fact that your AI did exactly the same makes me happy; I'm ready for Roko's basilisk lol

The best possible way to play is by pressing "WO" "QP" pressing them like that it goes wo qp wo qp so if u want to beat it do that

2 things: The fitness score should have a time limit, how far can it go within 20 seconds, so that it learns to do it fast, not just safe. Second, you could add average height of head to the fitness score so that he learns to stand up and run rather than scoot around lol. Cool video.

You could also make fitness equal “distance travel/seconds passed” so that way he is more likely to run up right since it is faster

This encourages safety over quickness, adding a time limit, distance traveled within 20 seconds, would encourage the AI to become faster.

Greatly done! If you want to copy the ai:s movement, simply go down on the left knee as the ai and press the keys q-w-o-p in that specific order over and over again. The runner will then start crawling. I beat the game on my first try using this method. 🔥

Would it be possible to provide more variation to ai moveset based on key hold down parameters? Because I think the ai behave like sliding on ground because it is clicking inputted keys in a very short time.

I see AI play games and perform the task given to them such as reaching the goal in least time frame possible or simply survive. What if we give AI a role just to gain knowledge and enhance itself just by it's knowledge it gained and giving it the platform "web" to work on.

It would eventually either have an error due to unforseen interactions of various data, or get someone in trouble by googling something like how to make a weapon, or trying to access data it shouldn't like a military base.

Well that's the way I found to beat QWOP: You basically run on your left foot/right knee or right foot/left knee. My technique wasn't very different to Alan, and I got 101 metres. I have seen people who managed to run but I never got to that level.

If his score is determined by distnace/time, won't that just make him gather some initial distance then die on purpose?

That is definitely something I think would need to be tweaked a bit for better results. Maybe penalizing death in the first 10m extra would help prevent this. Thanks!
