Yeah, no, AI isn't a good thing. This is the way they introduce it like it's a life saver and how it's going to make your life immensely better. But the long game of AI, it's game over for us. Check and mate.

the only professional who would complain about AI is one with a limited capacity or one who refuses to expand their thinking or one with work that a bot can outperform it. AI allowed us to provide high end results for half the time, effort, and budget every time. a professional photographer can generate an entire photoshoot that will be extremely difficult to spot but a random person using the same tool will generate something that they can not do years ago but will look nothing like what a professional photographer can achieve. AI is like bonus points, if you're an amateur and have 0 points, AI will get You a 100 points on the spot, but if You're a professional with a 1000 points, even with the 100 points AI gave the amateur the professional is still ahead, now add the 100 extra points to the professional and that is 2000 points and the math is correct because the 1000 points accumulated through experience unlocked a lot of creative capabilities that can take those 100 points AI provides and turn them into a 1000 points or more. AI will make the random person capable of generating something decent and so the low quality work will look decent but the high quality work will also increase in quality and the best part is that it will allow professionals to do more work faster and better and at a lower cost which will provide businesses and brands with limited resources the possibility to get amazing work for their limited budgets and will encourage businesses and brands who want that work but can not afford it or skip it entirely because they have 2 choices: 1 - big budget to achieve the results they desire which they can't afford or even if they have the money there are a 1000 things they can do with it and can actually help their business more. 2 - low budget with a result that is not up there with what they imagine. and so those businesses and brands cancel the whole idea, now those businesses and brands can see that their low budget will produce work that is up there...just the generative fill thing saved us a lot of money building sets and such and resulted in some amazing work for a budget that is way lower than what is normally required to build everything. AI will not replace professionals, not regular joe will generate a portrait by prompting a tool using camera references, film stock references, temperature references, lenses, focal lengths, apertures, contrast ratio, and all of that jazz and even if they copy it from a blog about photography principles they have no way of knowing if the AI generated image is generated properly or not cause they don't know. so even if we start a business that uses only AI for photography and videography, we will still need to hire professional photographers and videographers to do it or direct the project and they will get paid more even tho the projects will cost less because the rate at which the projects are finished is faster than normal and with less effort. as for real work it will cost a lot more than it does now because fast fashion is all over the place and cheap af and it's good for those who could not afford good looking stuff that is handmade (except the unnecessary waste and urge to buy more) but how did that affect handmade stuff? it only increased the price and profit margins for the handmade industry because they know they are now more prestigious than ever and those who could afford them still can afford them and those who couldn't simply were not going to buy it anyway so fast fashion didn't take anything away from them but gave them a solid argument to raise their prices. f*** i wrote an article 😂 😂

Personally I love A.I. for how it can help creatives. But I also hate it for how the big brands and companies will utilize it to not hire artist. In the long run, humans will always win. Industry are always growing and shrinking and changing. Corporations want to cut cost, people want things for cheaper.. at the end of it all, I think humans will crave human. We jsut gotta get through all the BS first. Who knows how long it will take. But rn, imma utilize A.I. to help me grow and get the things I hate doing done faster. It’s the same way creatives cried about social media becoming a thing.. now it’s easier than ever for unique hard working creatives to get work. Same thing is happening now.

Nothing wrong with AI at this level - it’s taking the drudgery out of retouching. Far different from letting AI generate a whole image from scratch. Nothing wrong with the subscription model for the busy professional, in the end they can do better work and make more money. One question - can you toggle the individual sliders off and on? That would be really helpful. Thanks for everything 👍🏻

Subscription plan … common SKYLUM , why ? Man I am loving your stuff since Luminar 3 . It looks very interesting but don’t be like Adobe man . Anyway love your content . Keep on doing great content 🤙🏼🤙🏼
@cammackeyАй бұрын
Honestly, I prefer subscription plans. I remember when I first got started I couldnt afford software upfront. Also, subscription plans allow for more frequent big upgrades to software. In the past software would gatekeep new features to save for the next big launch.. now we can get those upgrades faster. I see it as a small monthly investment into my business. Granted not all software utilizes it like that.. I know SKYLUM DOES! Now Adobe.. I feel like they’re getting better slowly.
@TheKerkerMeisterАй бұрын
I understand your point. I think for a “power user “ it is a good invest I would say. If you use a software for now and then I think buying a software is a better way imo. So definitely will be watching the progress on the new SKYLUM product . They doing a great job and the performance looks great so far

@@TheKerkerMeister what’s funny is you got people complaining about buying their software and them releasing new software…… and then people crying about subscription plans…… like what do people want lol?

I'm really excited about this Photo Editor, but Skylum has a very worrisome trend of creating software and then abandoning it. I've heard that many people feel 'burnt' by Luminar AI because it won't be updated. I'm really concerned that Skylum won't commit to their software. How can I be sure that Aperty won't suffer the same fate?
@cammackeyАй бұрын
I have Luminar AI and I’m perfectly happy with it personally. People can either look as it being abandoned or them updating it with a new program. This is why I like the subscription model so much because we’ll have get the updates and in the long run it is similar to buying the software except we get more consistent faster upgrades now. Cant make everyone happy, but Aperty is also a new program for them.
@chadremАй бұрын
I quit buying their software because of this. Last purchase was luminar 4. Never again.
@cammackeyАй бұрын
@@chadrem you do realize if you subscribe to their software you get all the upgrades right…
@chadremАй бұрын
@@cammackey I do realize that. I had too many issues with their old software to ever give them money again. I’m sure they have improved since luminar 4, but I always felt like a beta tester back then. Instead of improving things they would come out with some new software that had I pay for.

Evoto is way better
@000CloudStrifeАй бұрын
Yup no. Still garbage. As soon as you said skin smoothing pros know it’s based on some type of fs. Which more than likely the software uses on both layers(or multi). I’d rather be mentored by Studio Based and become a real pro at retouching until ai finally gets it to that level. This is just an ad to sell.
@cammackeyАй бұрын
So you admit you’re not a pro? You do realize even the pros use frequency separation right? Are you saying if AI uses it it’s not pro?? I’m confused. As a professional for over 15 years.. I’ve shot for some of the world’s biggest western bc commercial brands.. photo campaigns and video. I’ve always retouched my own work. Billboards.. giant ads in stores, malls, airports.. I can tell you, you’re on the wrong path brother haha. I think it’s wise for everyone to still learn how to retouch cause it’ll teach you how to shoot better knowing what it’ll take to retouch. But I am confident in saying A.I. is officially as good.. when it comes to good images. If you’re trying to edit a badly lit image, you still might have to do some manual retouching to fix your mistakes. But for everything else, this gets my money.
