For those compaining about Preller, heres a different perspective. Baseball is a business. Since he has been with us hes helped raise attendance by nearly 1.2 million a year! He has helped build a culture in our city and in that clubhouse and for every bad trade, hes had an amazing one. Im very thankful for Aj

AJ has been in his job 10 years. In that time the Giants have won the division and the Diamondbacks have been to the WS. The Dodgers have won the division 9 times and been to the WS four times and won two in last 5 years. Tell me again how great he is? He says himself his job is to win WS. His boss Kutspenda said this February that AJ will be judged and evaluated on winning WS. Winning 93 ganes one season and getting bounced in NLDS is not success. His ego is bigger than his accomplishments.

let's be real, the team choked this year. AJ built a juggernaut and the players failed to follow through. But I'm excited for the future because I do think AJ is smart and I think the remaining players will be really motivated to run it back.
@Chip619_Ай бұрын
lol you do realize that we were rebuilding for the first 4-ish years, right? Even after signing Manny and bring up Tatis, we still weren’t really “competing” until 2020. Therefore, 3 of 5 years making playoffs. Oh, and he’s brought EXCITEMENT to our City. Something we really hadn’t had since the Chargers left. 😁
@jdsthirdАй бұрын
@ So what you’re saying is AJ built a juggernaut one out of his ten years on the job. The players don’t usually get fired. And he’s already gone through 6 coaches in 10 years. He’s out of scapegoats. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@jdsthirdАй бұрын
@@Chip619_ So what was he doing all those years? What does he say his job entails? Watch the MLB Network interview yesterday for a clue. Based on his own words he’s been failing. Oh and how many small market teams have 6 100 and 300 million dollar contracts on their books? It’s more than being a small market and no TV deal. It’s decisions and choices. Bad ones.

@jdsthird I agree with you that he hasn't had a lot of success as the Padres GM in the past decade. My main intention of the initial KZbin comment is just imagining how fun it would be to pair a gun slinging GM with a gun slinging owner.

@@Nammm37 Fun? Ask frustrated Padres fans how much they’re having as prices are hiked year after year and yet the team cuts payroll. AJ is a great scout but horrendous front office executive. David Stearns is the right man for Cohen. With AJ you get bloated contracts with aging players. And a farm system ranked 29th. His ego is the only thing successful about his 10 year tenure.
