Thanks for this helpful video Nate! Back in the late 70's when we lived just north of Morro Bay, we used to pick up huge green boulders to use as yard rocks, and in our ignorance we thought that they were all jade. I've learned a lot since then, but there is and forever will be so much to learn. You have helped to further my education, and I am thankful!

Thank you so much for the education. It's so hard to put a name to these rocks that all look the same at first glance. There are so many different grades of these green stones that go beyond just color. Thank you for showing us just a few of the many differences that there can be. That just means we will have to spend some serious time with our stones to determine what they are. Thank you Nate!

I'm more of a vibrating rock hounder. My sister traveled the country doing rock shows and her psychic artwork. She passed 2 years ago, and now my niece sends to have stepped into her shoes. Last weekend, I did a show with her and saw specimens I hadn't ever heard of, let alone seen. Listening to my niece share all that wisdom was freaking amazing. And I thought my head was full. Keep sharing your wisdom, Nate.

You really helped to identify a rock I found years ago with this video. Looking forward to your video about the different hardness of rocks. I have to learn so much more and love listening to you explaining it. You are really good at making me interested in learning more about minerals and rocks in general. Thank you! 😊🥰

Thank you for the video. I always learn a lot from your posts. Maybe someday I’ll get out that way to look around. Western Massachusetts where I live has lots of serpentine type rocks. I walk the rivers and brooks and it’s easy to spot once you learn to identify it. Many times I’ll slice the rocks into thin sections then polish them. The translucent green is beautiful.

Love the green rocks. I would pick them up on my trips to Big Sur and wading through San Simeon creek. I have all around the house...outside. Like the way they are when it rains. Thank you Nate.

Why are you doing this? Not one of those stones is jade. You might have a few nice pieces of serpentine. Serpentine is not jade.
