Casio is truly a God-tier brand. I have bought Oceanus T200 for $300 during my trip to Japan and eventually they replaced my entire watch collection for me having 95% of the wrist time. Something about them makes them magical - they do adjust time themself syncing with the phone 4 times a day, they adjusting DST, date or timezone automatically based on the phone, the finishing is immaculate and produced on the same factory as Grand Seiko with the same tolerances. They are the watch I can trust in pretty much any situation unless I'm doing some extreme sport for which I would prefer my 5600G. It's pity that Casio don't sell Oceanus worldwide.

Citizen, Casio, Orient, Seiko. Long ago, the four watch brands lived in harmony. Then, everything changed when the fashion watches attacked. Only Ben, founder of bens watch club, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A month passed, and I noticed a new post, released ten minutes ago, and although the quality is great, he has a long wag to go before he is ready to bring good watches to everybody. It really is that good. I've had one for 3.5 years, probably my favorite watch. Looks great on a bunch of different straps (I never use the bracelet, though it's fine, and the clasp could be easily replaced). Mine mostly lives on a Barton silicone, in a variety of colors. Understated, good features, rugged enough to wear pretty much anywhere. I've had many watches go through my possession in the last 4 years since I got back into wearing a watch, this one has been in the collection the longest and would be the last one I'd get rid of. It just works and does all the things.

I have this watch, too. I have had it for over a year now and I still love it. I personally don't care for bezels as I feel they make the dial smaller and so this quickly became a top choice when I was looking. The depth of the dial and the raised markers still catch my eye. The lume is pretty good, too, which I love! Just a brief step outside and it's glowing brightly when you step back indoors. The bracelet is probably the only downside. It can be noisy at times when I am driving on a bumpy road but I am guessing that's true with most. I have had no issues with it and I am not careful/gentle with it. I am not a mechanic or laborer but when I rough house with the dog or kids, it gets jolted quite a bit and never misses a beat. It has certainly bumped door knobs and such and the sapphire is still flawless. It is also water resistant to 10 ATMs so while I don't do dishes or take a shower with it, I wouldn't be worried about jumping in a pool. I bought mine from a seller on eBay and there was no import/customs charge. I am in the USA. Since it's a Japanese model, I still have yet to meet anyone with the same watch. So, even though it may not "stand out", I love that it's unique. I would recommend it if you're considering another watch.

Hi all. I just bought this following the link. The 12 O-clock marker is perfect on mine and I only paid £142.60 to buy and have sent to the UK. I only got it today and am now wearing it. I've taken out 4 links and have managed to set it up. You are going to have to download the instruction manual pdf, however if you speak Japanese you won't have to worry. I've only got this today but I can already say I love it. I do want it to have a back light. The sapphire Chrystal is lovely. I wish you would have bored us with the details lol. I followed your links to the site and will be doing tht again. I do like this watch though. Thank you Ben.

I have had this watch for about six months, and still really like it (no quality control issues with mine). I wanted a watch that had all of the features of digital watch, radio controlled, analog and no Bluetooth. I almost purchased the M100 (the other watch discussed) but I was concerned about the non symmetric buttons and the LCD display might look out of place on my wrist. Since being in Australia, I could not try it on before purchasing, so I went with the safe option (M700). Negatives that I have found with the watch: No LED light (available in the m100) The stopwatch and and timer can take a couple of seconds to change to their modes because you have to wait for the hands to move there Difficult/complex to adjust the time/date if you are not in a radio controlled area

Thanks Ben for another very interesting video. An alternative to the Casio is Seiko, which makes vey good radio controlled watches of a slightly different spec. to the one featured in your video. I recently purchased a Seiko SBTM321 from Sakura Watches of Japan, and am very impressed with it. Its finish is absolutely stunning and I think it offers very good value for money at approx. £275 before UK import duty. It might be worth reviewing one in a future video? Well done, Ben, as always. Yeah, those misaligned markers are mystery, and annoying. I presume all mass produced watches have markers applied by machine, but even if not, the quality control could be. Maybe the amount of misalignment you are seeing is within tolerance. And we see this case all the time on inexpensive quartz watch second hands. Still, seems like every manufacturer could fix this if they tried.
@damyr Жыл бұрын
Not with Casio. A misaligned marker is an extremely rare exception. I've never seen anything like that, as opposed to some other brands.
@rbsafe Жыл бұрын
You have had better luck than I. I have 6 MRW-200H Casio divers and 2 of them clearly miss the seconds markers. True, they are very inexpensive Casios, but that's how it is.
@damyr Жыл бұрын
@@rbsafe Didn't think about second hand hitting marks or not, but about misaligned 12h index. But yeah, most cheaper quartz watches have that flaw. It's actually an industry standard, because making the second hand hitting all the marks requires some additional investment in production. Thus it's reserved for more expensive models. I've read about it some time ago.

Titanium is a tougher material to machine in general, when machining it, the metal shavings can spontaneously ignite and give you a fun and exciting reactive metal fire, and the dust from grinding and polishing is even more prone to igniting. While not as reactive as magnesium, zirconium, or hafnium, it’s still quite an even when all your metal shaving ignite cannot be extinguished except through properly classed fire extinguishers or sand. 🎉

Those overhanging markers look stunning; I've never seen that on a watch before. To your point about how putting feature text on the watch dial is unnecessary because people already know what they're getting, I have to disagree slightly. I work on battery-powered watches, and I'm not allowed to work on solar watches. I continue to be shocked by the number of people who NEVER knew their watch was solar, even when it is printed on the dial. I guess I understand it for Eco Drive, but some of them literally say "SOLAR". How do you miss that?
