Great ride as he didn't jump all that well and was hard ridden by the jockey to take up a better position. Big horse with big heart ❤ . Bueatifull looking animal. He'll definitely improve as well.

Dont have any FAMOUS horses races in us with 5 10 minutes horses more long distance runs?? Soo much more enjoyable to watch long runs With 20 horses is almost IMPOSSIBLE 90% loses big money on this shocked how much Money is involved in this!! This money 120$$ at top each horse is prizes he earn in all life races?? How much years does a horses comprtes curiosity??

Would bring good honor to Justify the sire of Verify if Verify won the Derby. Tapit was sixth in the Florida Derby, and ninth in the Pennsylvania and Kentucky Derbies. Justify won the Triple Crown and was UNDEFEATED!

Just bad luck for Tapit....last year was his best chance to win the triple crown with the horse of the year Flightline...but cause an accident, the horse start his racing career late....!!!

@@victorcruz3221 Tapit is vastly overrated as his talent on the track was below average. He somehow got on the "good list" so he gets the cream of the mare crop and rides their coattails to fame and fortune. Since his offspring are considered very valuable they get the best of everything, including vets and trainers. Flightline was coddled so much and given so much time off between races that that enabled him to begin his career late and get lots of R & R between races. This helped Zenatta too although she did run regularly, unlike Flightline. These two show how racehorses don't actually mature fully until four or five. They were able to mature and develop the way it is done in many equestrian sports like polo, reining, jumping and others. Flightline never set any track records but was able to start his career after truly great horses were already retired. If he'd had to go up against California Chrome, Gun Runner, Arrogate or other top notch horses he would have been beaten repeatedly. His is the reputation that good timing built. It's hard to imagine how great Secretariat would have done on the track if he hadn't been retired at three.

@@vernonfrance2974 Tapit overrated?....performance on the track is very different than performance on the breeding shed....Do you know Tapit already have 4 Belmont Stake winners in Creator, Tapwrit, Tonalist and Essential Quality? Do you know Pharp Lap, one of the best horses ever come out of nowhere?...His sire and mare never ever when to the racetrack...The success in the breeding shed is more related to the bloodlines than the performance on the racetrack...if the match is right...!!!

After looking at the races this weekend.... Blue Grass, Santa Anita and Wood, the contenders for Kentucky Derby we got a horse race ... Japan has a good contender, So, no drama.....One would hope, all goes as planned.......The top stallions at stud, like Practical Joke, Gunner Runner have there best colts forward.........

Yes that could be he doesn't break well from The Starting Gate which Pletcher did Saybrook well the first race but he hasn't his last two and then he doesn't show any speed the only thing he's got going for him at Churchill Downs is that on Derby day they pack it and roll it and pack it but it still cups out with a long striding horse like Skipaway for example Churchill Downs was the only race track that Skipaway didn't win a race on...the same thing happened to Native Dancer the only race he lost was at Churchill Downs.... and then take a look at Essential Quality and Flightline they both had the same problems in their rear end the only thing is Sadler kept Flightline in California where the race tracks are fast and Brad Cox trained Essential Quality at Churchill Downs with that riverbottom sand which makes it worse....

Verify is by the great Justify and he'd be one of the top athletes that could win it too. It's in his blood. Tapit and Pulpit did almost nothing on the track only winning the Wood Memorial. Justify won the Santa Anita Derby and the Triple Crown

I’m not discounting any of these animals for this years Derby. What race were you looking at , he broke slow went wide , made a middle move while being wide and still beat a horse that had a perfect trip , he 8s dangerous 9n the derby , especially if he breaks a lot better than he did

I was referring to the Bluegrass, he ran much better. He should have beat that Tampa field easily. He is certainly a contender. We'll see how he does at a mile and a quarter.

@@jaredrogers9390 you seem to be describing his Tampa Bay Derby race. He beat that glorified allowance bunch despite the issues you described. He got out the gate fine in the Bluegrass. If he ran the race he ran at Tampa at Keeneland yesterday he gets beat by 5 lengths.

That all looked good. But Pletcher"s horses do not come up big on Derby Day. And this year there will be a tremendous amount of pressure. Because Baffert will nit be there. And all the excuses are set in place.

Silly headline. This is good young Tapit colt, but will still need to improve to win the Derby - certainly no favorite. The Japanese colt Derma Sotogake ran the most impressive prep this year and the Japanese runner-up in the Santa Anita Derby validated that race. With most of the best rated Derby colts preferring mid pack and/or stalking trips if he takes to the Churchill surface in workouts in coming weeks he might just deserve favoritism even though very likely the American public an many handicappers will avoid until they actually win one.
