You don't necessarily have to frog to below where your dropped stitches are. If you take a crochet hook into the loop of the last dropped stitch, you can just crochet up the "ladder". Just make sure you crochet into all the horizontal ("ladder" looking) yarn. It will have the same look as a knitted stitch. When you get to the top, capture the stitch with a stitch marker or a tiny safety pin until you can get the stitch back on your needles. In your case, your scarf is off the needles already so you don't necessarily have to hold the stitch with a marker. At any rate, now all your stitches are back on top and you only have to undo your bind-off row if you want do re-do it. I hope this makes sense.

Way to go on the steins! They are going to look awesome in your home. I hope the scarf only has a short timeout. It is SO close to a finish!

On the scarf - Definitely take it back. And after reknitting to your desired length, just be really careful when binding off so that no stitches get missed. It is hard to see the bind off with that thinner yarn fiber, so dropping some stitches can easily happen. I’ve had a similar experience.

Thanks for sharing your amaryllis blooms. Definitely appreciated as it has been gloomy and cloudy for 10+ days. The scarf is beautiful, but the end does need a little change. Otherwise that is really nice!

There has always been issues with binding off scarves, that are alternating stitches.. k2, p2,k2,p2, etc. Here is the only thing that has worked for me. Don't bind it off like you would normally do. Instead simply run the tail of the yarn, through the stitches left on the needles, and tie each end off. But don't do it really tight,, do it to the exact finish as you want it to be, so there is room for the project to hold the up and down weave pattern. This is so it still has the weave grooves. I've really had this problem with sofa throws, and this method solves that issue.

Whoa! @06:12 I was so shocked to see these stretched stitches! I agree 100% with you. Absolutely FABU knitting too by the way. I just am curious though; why did you decide on the sparkle fabric for the stein? Now, you know me and my love of ❇✴✳sparkle....don't take this wrong, i was curious. Have a great rest of your weekend. Richard

Do you not sleep? That's a lot of progress on the beer Stein. I have that same issue with scarf bind-offs, that's why I avoid them. I have 2 suggestions, one I've done, and the other just popped into my addled COVID brain. What I've done before is to just combine edges to make it an infinity scarf. The other is to frog to below the dropped stitches, keeping that edge live, knit a separate "swatch", and Kitchener the two together.

The amaryllis fascinate me. Can you plant the bulbs outside? Are you planning on doing that? If not can they just be stored till next year? I have narrcissis blooming inside right now. They did beautifully. I'm going to plant the bulbs outside in the spring. Also I agree with the dropped stitch edge on the scarf. Liked it much better before.

Thanks for showing us your flowers! I have a bulb that's about to flower for the first time (it has a single stem about 3ft tall!!) but have been waiting for it to do so for 2wks now... how long does it usually take for them to bloom? Sorry about your scarf too, what a shame 😟 I've not had that happen yet, but if you show us how you've come to fix it, that would be something very handy to know.

Nimble Needles on KZbin just uploaded a stretchy bind-off video. I was thinking of your bind-off issue when I was watching it. I liked the Sewn bind-off. You may want to take a look at it.

😊I have to ask, I can't figure it out... what are "yins"? You say "hello yins..." not sure about spelling. I really like the green Amaryllis. The stein is looking great. I think the scarf looks really nice but I would probably want to reknit that last bit too.

I’m British so maybe not the best one to answer this, but I think Gerald explained a long time ago that it’s the plural of ‘you’. I think it’s spelled ‘yinz’. It’s an expression from Pennsylvania, if I remember rightly.
@Cindi.Bennett Жыл бұрын
@@moonloversheila8238 you are correct. It's the east coast way of saying "y'all". As in "you all".
