The 25 anniversary Lage 1 with blue highlight is extremely tastefully done up. I will attain it someday, yes for a non watch lover they will think I'm sick or stupid to pay for something that only tell time but is the craftsmanship & the pride to be able to own a timepiece from the best watch maker in the market that make it all so worth it. Thanks Marc for this in-depth interview.

I highly enjoyed this great interview! It is a show of respect toward your channel that these individuals are giving you so much of their time and banter. And of course, you always choose the right people to interview. On a side note, Lange & Söhne really belongs in a class of its own: ultraluxury (or exceptional and complete horology) without the extreme exclusivity quotas for those (more than a few) of us who admire horological prowess. It is great to see that they are successfully continuing their unmitigated and tireless quest for perfection. Bravo!

Rolex is still a very good solid watch. I do like that about them. But they could put a lot more time into finishing work. Do they still make kustom movements for watches by some chance Rolex? My absolute favorite watch of all time is F. P. Journ company watches. But alas the prices are stupid high sorry to say. Love those Journ watches but why do they all have to have such high end prices?? I really think it should cost so much less??? All these modern high end watch companies all use computers to develop watch parts. Then to design and practically build the whole watch. By using CNC machines for all the little parts. But it still has a lot of hand work to clean up the parts after machining. I guess it depends on how fancy a watch you want.

One of my favorite watches. I just wish the date window had a 0 in front of the first 9 days of the month because it looks a little weird with an empty box, anyone else agree? Again. Yeah, thats why you everybody can get an ALS at an AD for retail and people are paying 50% over retail for 2nd hand Pateks. ALS are spectacular, but they'll never reach the prestige of Patek.
@jkpd97436 жыл бұрын
Schleberger the prestige has nothing to do with quality or other objective reasons - its just the name. if the name justifies this overprized tag for you - ok the holy grail should sth be what is as perfect as possible; and not a expensive a possible because a name.
@Schleberger6 жыл бұрын
@@jkpd9743 watches are jewelry, which is all about prestige. ofc watch nuts dont care about that, but 99% of all watch buyers do Even if patek had only half the quality of a lange, it would still be twice the watch to 99% of all watch buyers.

@Kerim Temel maybe thats true. If you compare them on the 2nd hand market youll see that Pateks hold or rise in value while Langes mostly drop heavily
@BobFrostV5 жыл бұрын
@@Schleberger Based on what you're saying Rolex must be the best brand by far since you say, "watches are jewelry, which is all about prestige." The Qty of people that recognize Rolex is immensely higher than any other luxury watch brand. If you care about resell value you sure must think Supreme clothing is the best quality clothing in the world ROFL. So dumb. Obviously people are saying A Lange & Sohne represents a higher quality piece in finishing and aesthetics than a Patek. You're the only one mentioning resale value retention. Also your 99% of people would disagree about Patek falling behind Lange in production quality doesn't hold water in this forum. Please take a poll and see if you can ever find a target group that agrees with you.

Nah. 🙀 I think FP. Journ is the best looking an working movements around. And my Glashutte pano reserve is super clean an fine working watch I love it. It did cost a lot back then. It was brand new never seen until the watch convention show that I was at. I still have the special wood , leather lined boxes and all my original papers just squirreled away. I try to keep it realistic on prices of watches from $2,000 to $20,000. Anymore than that it has to be very special. I wish I could play with the high price watches but such is life. I have some watches I consider my pet favorites. Small time watch makers just starting out and I try to buy some of their unique pieces. I found a German artist who only makes 30-50 hand made watches each year. And mostly out of stainless steel, some gold for bushings and train wheels this tourbillon movement works wonderfully never had a single problem in 5 years now. Part of the Glashutte watch company. Same super watches but just a little bit less fancy in polish work.
