@songoku-jx3cb11 ай бұрын
As an overall watchmaker lange doesn’t come close to patek . The history , heritage , wide catalogue , innovations and brand equity of patek philippe are unrivalled . I love lange , their watches are unreal but comparing it to patek as an overall brand is futile .
@avarmauk11 ай бұрын
@@songoku-jx3cb thanks for proving my point. Heritage shouldn’t earn you success, it should earn you experience. Tradition stifles innovation and Patek hasn’t produced anything innovative. The Nautilus looks like a maxi pad I value beauty over heritage and Patek’s complacency in this respect has in my opinion deemed them a runner up.
@songoku-jx3cb11 ай бұрын
@@avarmauk i don't think so . When you have been around for more than century and defined watchmaking to its core you deserve a different place in the book . Patek has made many innovations even in the modern era the mighty grandmaster chime being one of many . But just innovation doesn't define a brand . Patek is known as king of complications for a reason . Patek has made so many watches over its course of lifespan that lange will never catch up in a span of mere 2 decades .

Having the tourbillon on the front would be unnecessarily show-offish, and would distract from the exquisites details on a watch dial as 'busy' as this. On this watch, for the owner - and for anyone lucky enough to be privileged a look - the back is even more outrageously fabulous than a 'normal' (if I can use that word) DataGraph. A Michelangelo on the front, and wait.... a De Vinci on the back! And the comparisons in the comments below with the Richard Milles costing the same price. Yes, really puts things in perspective. BTW, an RM would equate to a Jeff Koons ;-)

I know they are both successful, I know the guy wearing the a langhe sohne knows about watches and I can’t say the same for the patek wearer. Plenty of patek people who are interested in the hobby, but there are a lot who aren’t and simply want a piece to flex. I don’t think anyone buys als to flex, because no one really knows the brand outside of watch circles.
