Gonna be honest here. I've been following you for a while and everytime I see the notification I go on my big monitor, close the curtains, put my headphones on, relax and watch the videos and it's a f***ing blast! I might be wrong by doing this comparison but it's like I'm enjoying a Blade Runner and let me tell you. This movie is my favorite of all time since I watched it few years after the release. I would really love to see an episode in which you talk about your journey, what did you do (I think you're a machinist), how you came to photography and filmmaking, how you got better, what inspires you (I have a small idea), it would inspire a lot of us.

the photos sure looked great with these lenses :D if you wanted to take some portraits, get a 90s outfit for your model, get a roll of some color or b/w film that was in production back then (idk trix or sth) and any camera with that lens. youll be in heaven.
@Riccardo_Mori2 жыл бұрын
From personal experience, life in the 1990s was great. The Web was at its heyday, and there was a lot of excitement for this new thing called the Internet. Mobile phones were simpler, messaging was simpler, and the ability to call people from wherever, or send them a text that they would read and respond to right away felt a bit like magic. Photography-wise, it was awesome. Lots of cameras to choose from, at any price, and with some fantastic mid-level and high-end SLRs (though I never liked the increase in use of plastic for camera manufacturing). Film was ubiquitous and cheap - you could even buy it at a supermarket, at least where I lived - and you could easily find a photo lab that really developed & printed your rolls in one hour. The whole process, now that I consider it with hindsight, felt as fast and convenient as digital is today. Cheers! //Rick

That train picture what fucking phenomenal. I said, "What a great fckin picture." OUT LOUD in a room by myself. My first thought was that the lines were satisfying, but the subject was really out of focus. My eyes moved right to follow the lines to their point of conversion, and oh, there you are, the actual subject of the photo. A bright face, glued to the wonders of the world beyond the window. Almost if the glass is the only thing holding her back from falling right out of the train. I had to read that picture from left to right and I fucking loved it.

Just wondering: when adding shims to reach infinity focus, how do you know when it is achieved? Is this a matter of trial and error and seeing if the image on the camera is at infinity focus, or is the visible without having to screw the lens housing together?

It's a trial and error situation. Pretty easy to figure out but does require you to take it apart a couple times to dial it in the first time.

Man your content is top notch. Glad i found your channel. You ever tried the otus line? I shot on otus for years in a professional setting weekly and the bokeh is the most appealing out of all lenses i worked with. It is a real art lens. They are heavy but worth to carry around without a question. The 55 and 85 are my favorite. Iam used to shoot anamorphics on a weekly bases but there is something special to the otus line. The otus has a sence of 3D effect i've never seen before. They are the most modern and clean optics with a ton of character hard to explain the rendering if you never put one on the front of your sensor. You move 1mm on the focus ring and the whole background changes.
