Looks like a good knife. Hard to find one and more expensive when I find one, than I feel I should be spending on another knife. I spent most of my life looking for the perfect knife for my use. There is no such thing, however I have came very close with the Tommi Puukko by the Kemppainen Brothers, Alpo (AK) and Olavi (OK). I feel that they made the most perfect blades for my use. I think both of these brothers have retired, but I was able to get ten of their blades prior to that. I have slowly over the years made most of them into Puukko’s with birchbark handles and birchbark sheaths for my sons and my best of friends. Knee deep snow here in interior Alaska, tonight the temperature is -40°. Nice to sit by the fire, watching your videos. Daylight here has gained 30 minutes per day since the Winter Solstice. Enjoy your longer days, stay warm and dry.

Yes, the same here! Im on a constant search for the perfect blade for me, which obviously doesn't exist. Wow, I know the Kemppainen blades are highly regarded! I saw one in our annual Antique Fair here in Fiskars.(You'd probably go bonkers there, massive amount of puukkos. Some really rare ones) Regretting not buying it. Was just well over limits or spending. Oh man, that sounds awesome, your Alaskan nights by the fireside. The nature must be gorgeous there! Here came yesterday lots of snow. So starts to look like proper winter. Thanx for watching my friend, have great day there on the otherside of the pond!

Good video, but I think now you're going to have to collect all your L.T. Wright knives and do a comparison video doing various bushcraft tasks. If you want. Happy new year

I really like broomstick style handles. They fit my hand well and as you said no hot spots. LT Wright is definitely one of America’s best makers. Thanks 🎸🔪

Great knife. I couldn’t decide between the Genesis or the GNS, so I decided to do the only logical thing and get both too. They’re both extremely capable knives, but for some reason I prefer to use the Genesis for heavier duty stuff. The GNS is my favorite for cleaning fish, since it just feels a bit less bulky for that kind of work.
@OldForestBushcraft4 күн бұрын
Oh yes, I use that logic all the time😅 F.e couldnt decide between jääkäripuukko and Peltonen M95 so did the sensible thing and bought them both. Though I like Scandi grinds, 😮I would actually love the GNS in saber and with 3v steel. Would make a great camp knife. Thanx for watching, have a great day!

ive used a PKS Kephart for 6 years now for EDC, bushcraft and career (Nussiance Trapper) and it has served me very well, only ever 1 chip and was fixable. just this year i changed it out . time tested design!

I love traditional knife designs. Designs that have history behind them, like Kephart. Will check the psk Kephart. Thx for sharing! And thanx for watching!

Great Knife! And Legendary it is, one of the most popular LT Wrights and for good reason! True descendant of the Kephart design but much more versatile in my opinion! Great Review and Happy New Years!! The scenery is absolutely spectacular too! 👍 WOW! Just noticed, almost at the 2000 subscriber mark! Congratulations! 🥳🥳🥳

LT has transformed the timeless Kephart design to bushcraft perfection! Wouldnt change a thing with this. Oh yeah, 2000 getting close!! Thank you! And thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!

Any opinions comparing to bark river similar model? Like bravo 1 Lt 3v?
@OldForestBushcraft4 күн бұрын
Good question! I have the Bravo 1.25. Great knife for sure. Never tried their Lt versions but always thought probably going to be great one. As they are so thick blades, the Lt probably an improvement, I do like Bark rivers Convex grinds, but I have to say overall like more LT Wrights knives. The handle on Bravo is not that good really. Cant compare it to LT Wright. Thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!

I share your exact thoughts on this blade, and I think you totally nailed this review. LT does an excellent scandi and the quality control seems to be out of this world, compared to many other knives i have. Just a great take in a classic blade! (Thanks for the little shout out! 🙂) Oh, we have very little snow here too, and until today, the temps have been hovering around zero... 😯
@OldForestBushcraft4 күн бұрын
Yeah their QC is supreme. All my LTs have have been nothing short of immaculate. Which cant really be said of certain other premium US knives... Very wierd winter indeed. Almost polar opposite to last year. We got some snow, but not enough to do skiing etc. Kiitos kun katsoit kamu, kivaa päivää!🇨🇦🇫🇮

So how does this (and the GNS for that matter) stack up against the Lagom?
@Rob-pv4zc4 күн бұрын
I have the Lagom (as well as the Genesis and the GNS), and I am not a fan of the Lagom’s handle. Profile is much different than either the Genesis or GNS, but some folks love it. Great knife with its blade profile, I just couldn’t get over the handle. But for those who love that handle, it’s a great knife.
@OldForestBushcraft4 күн бұрын
Good question! I love the Lagom, but I've noticed I use it mainly as a kind of everyday edc. Great, more lightweight than GNS, Genesis. Fantastic carver etc. But I noticed that I prefer maybe tad longer blade when I go to the woods for longer time. But I do take it with me sometimes. The handle seems to divide people. I like it a lot. Kind of a modern, full tang edc Puukko. If that makes any sense. Thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!
@OldForestBushcraft4 күн бұрын
I dig the design a lot. Kind of a modern bushcraft puukko. Noticed that some love the handle some dont. I like it. Reminds me actually of some Finnish Puukkos. F.e the Teeri Kivalo. Very similar. Thx for watching! @@Rob-pv4zc
@tombryant60613 күн бұрын
@@Rob-pv4zcI have all 3 also and my ranking is Lagom, GNS, Genesis. I absolutely love the handle on the Lagom, as well as its little brother the Kamrat. Cannot go wrong with any LT Wright
