Pro Tip: Step 1, talk to the wife ad nauseum for a week about a $1200.00 SA 1911. Week 2/Step 2, show her an HK45 and its price & tell her you think its a better gun & a better deal. Step 3, buy the P7 Pro and tell her its a 9mm HK and 9 is cheaper than. 45. Then compliment her hair, makeup, outfit, or something. 😉

@@downrangefuture6493 I just looked up the B&T suppressor he used and you can get one right now from Arms Unlimited for $420, also you can get the RMRcc from PSA right now for $527, so your numbers are off a little. The suppressor + tax stamp + optic only amount to $1147 compared to the $1900 you quoted, which gets you to a grand total of $4847 compared to the $5800 you quoted. It's still absurdly priced but about $1000 less absurd than the price you gave.

And hearing him lay out what he has done just in footwork regarding the material science of this pistol has me feeling confident in my future purchase. Back in 1998 i believe, I had a P7M8, I was into 40S&W then so I ordered the P7M10 (.40S&W). Took forever for it to come in from Germany. When I received it, I also ordered an extra magazine, so I had 3 10rd mags for it. My serial number was 000-014. I never even shot it. Got rid of it about 8 months later. Another great vid, you guys are knocking it out of the park. I owned a PSP which is the early model before the NJSP input for the M8 features. Fantastic pistol once you condition yourself to the manual of arms to run it effectively. I shoot monthly club matches (Steel Challenge) and shot that PSP P7 frequently. Guys nicknamed it the “Tactical Staplegun). The heat issue became apparent, and it was a big issue for a gun used in matches with a relatively high round count. Since the gas piston is directly above the trigger guard (as you describe), the heat created after shooting 5 strings/mags during each stage the gun was beyond uncomfortable. Reholstering after shooting wouldn’t allow it to cool and shooting the next stage was even worse, with accumulated heat I’d have to let it sit out with the slide retracted between stages. So it was a great pistol just not the tool for that shooting game. With that said, I’ve been following P7Pro for a while and am seriously considering ordering one in the near future.

P7Pro’s been on my radar for a bit, there have been e-mails back and forth, and I’m barely a click away from ordering an aluminum-framed, traditional profile gun. Only thing I’m waffling on is threaded or unthreaded. Even with the issues James mentioned, I’m willing to be a beta tester.

I wonder if finding a way to adapt the frame to polymer and simplifying the slide design so it requires less machining time could drop the price substantially? Setting up the molds for polymer is expensive but scales much more than machining blocks of aluminum. While it wouldn’t be as much of a P7 it could be desirable. Maybe the polymer frame could house some sort of heat sink for the piston better than a metal frame
