This is so helpful, thank you so much for making this video! I'm really struggling with the structure of extract questions.

is it okay if when answering extract questions you use both the name of the author of the extract and what extract it is (e.g, Author: P.Mathias, Extract A)@@HistoryRevisionSuccess

How many points for convincing/not convincing would be enough for each extract to get an A:A*? Do you think 2 reasons why the extract is convincing and 1 why it is not, with supporting knowledge and evidence from extract, would be enough?

Sorry for my long delay! I would recommend what you have said. However, do not force the points if they don’t exist - if there are no reasons why it is not convincing, that is okay! But as a rough guide that works. You can also differ the lengths of each extract exploration slightly, if your analysis for one is slightly longer than another it is fine, as long as all are reasonably explored. It is definitely about quality of response here rather than sticking to a set set formula! Hope that helps.

Hi, I've watched a few of your videos and they've been very helpful in retaining A grade essay skills - for Extract questions would you recommend quoting the extract or is simply addressing the points made sufficient? Thanks in advance!

Dont know if this is helpful anymore, but i would say it is up to preference... you wont get marked down for quoating or not aslong as you show your understanding of the extract.

Hi, in the exam I didn’t make a final sentence judging overall value of the source at the end of each block paragraph But I constantly referred to the question when analyzing and said “this therefore makes source valuable” etc. throughout I also think I did well on all the other assessment criteria Do you think not having this final sentence will significantly affect my level or cap me at a certain level even if everything else was good??
