Chills🥺 After being abandoned as a little girl, then losing Gallifrey and all that running The Doctor finally gets a family and a home to keep❤ I also can't get over how 10 wanted to settle down with Rose and she wanted to with him, but he couldn't. Then Martha wanted to but he didn't. Neither him nor Donna wanted to settle down together, but they needed to and they did. 😂😢

Such a beautiful ending for David Tennant's doctor. I don't suppose Capaldi's Doctor's 24 years with River Song were very domestic, because neither seems the type to settle down. This is truly the one adventure the doctor has never had!

He wasn't ready for that life. He was still young. Young people generally don't want to settle down. They want to experience everything life has to offer. 14 has lived that life and is ready to experience the peace and happiness of a home and a group of friends/family that love him.

Why? WHY was it the one adventure he could never have? BECAUSE TIMELORDS DONT AGE! They regenerate. His companions could spend the rest of their lives with him. But he can't spend his with them. He'll out live them. He'll watch them age, watch them "wither and die," as the Doctor EXPLAINED to Rose in the episode with Sarah Jane. ~ So what's changed? Why can the Doctor suddenly "live a life like that?" Because the writers say so? Because the Doctor decided he could? Because Donna gave him permission? The Doctor doesn't need permission. And the writer's idea of having the Doctor suddenly able to "live a life like that" makes NO sense. He's still a timelord (sort-of). He still doesn't age. His companions will still wither and die. The Doctor settling down is great fanfiction, fantastic at tugging the heart strings. But it makes absolute no sense. It's a big old fat plot hole which negates the entire history of him travelling. It's not logical. It's a cheap emotional trick on the audience. And we're eating it up.

It's because he never allowed himself to have that to save himself from all the heartaches. And yes you're right. What changed is he finally decided he could (and the writers say so) and Donna invited him to be part of their lives. So yes to all that. What changed is, knowing he might be broken hearted down the line, he still decide to have that adventure. And I think that's beautiful.

​@@VinvininhkExactly, he's embracing this new life even if it hurts later, because he already lived by his own and it's entirely different and that kind of life with Donna is one of the things that he does love of the Earth.

And at the same time, they've already thrown this whole plot down the drain since the 15th (Ncuti) will return to land, interact with Mel, Rose, etc. mediocre.
