A Little Look at the MSR HUBBA HUBBA TENT

I spent a night in the wild, where I tried out the MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 man tent. It is a great tent in my opinion, but not sure I would choose it over the hammock...

Yes, I am planning the tarp idea for extra cover too. You can attach a gear shed to the Hubba Hubba. I ordered it a few days ago.

Hello Dan, and nice videos i liked it :) But at @5:23 be careful with the cross pole, you put it in the wrong way, only the plastique hold the bar, you must put on the top !

Hard to get into the tent vibe when you've got a hammock and tarp, I'm struggling to come to terms with using a tent for walks! Good to get a view on this one mate, I was looking at them but am clueless about them so it helps seeing this.

the center arch of the tent should be at the top of the tent frame. so the frame itself is incorrectly assembled in the video. i know that in a new tent it is dificult to do but in used msr hubba hubba tents it is easy, because of the bend pole arch´s.

You set it up incorrectly. The centre pole should be located above the ridge pole, not below it. The fly will fit much better this way. Otherwise, good video. Love my hubba hubba.

Thanks for the look at the MSR I've Really been looking around for a smaller tent as I've already got a Golite Hex 3 and Vaude Terratrio both of which are not exactly stealthy . Think I'll go with the Snugpak ionesphere .

Dan i love my Elixir 1 tent. Great ventilation no condensation. Big porch !!. 100% waterproof. Lots of pockets and hang cords all around the tent. For £200 ? you won't find a better! i looked at getting a Terra nova solo tent £700!! yes way lighter but all my fucking Bollocks!!

The tent is waterproof why use a tarp? Sorry I don't get it. Just carrying extra weight and volume for nothing.

Alex Morgan you’re quite right. I wasn’t walking far though, or for any great length of time. I decided I’d rather pack down a wet tarp than a wet tent. Hate packing down wet gear.

Manang Ca it’s a 3x3 meter tarp. So roughly just over 9ft each side. Hope that helps. The brand is “DD Hammocks” and I would really recommend their tarps. Good quality stuff

This Hubba Hubba tent is terrible. I just bought one, unless you use this without a rain fly in absolutely perfect dry conditions it doesn't work. It leaks like crazy. The design is terrible. Yes its easy to set up which is great. But thats it. The rain fly sticks to the mesh, even in clear conditions the condensation leaks all over you. Light shower you are in for a bad night. Don't get it!!
