Another Good Sermonette from Baker Dave's Cookies ... The moral of the Story here is - you can collect and know a huge pile of good and profitable things, but if you miss the mark, even by a little bit you may as well miss it by a gaping galaxy of trillions of miles We Need Jesus like the air we breathe while on this planet as humans without Jesus - life is not sustainable, and decay is inevitable yet so many of us, start the day, not with a thank you God for getting me thru the night, nor as they stumble with a disheveled robe and growing beard to their kitchen fridge, also without the mind of giving thanks, the traditional caveman's handbook said, ugh! Food 1st each day, Coffee - lol - Devotions ? Bible reading? Prayer? that comes later in the day = if, there is time (remember now we got laundry to do, shopping at the mall, a picnic at the beach, and then out to dinner with the Anderson's - whew that day flew by, I'm tired ... and maybe - if really noble, a good night Lord. Oh that Jesus would always be 1st and foremost in our hearts, our souls and our minds

Most unfortunate story about the California boy and the peanut bar - Moral of that story - Never look into someone else's lunch bag with envy thinking what they have is better than your own be thankful you had a Mom who loved you enough to pack a bag in the 1st place

Their common bond - Both groups were SINNERS in need of a Savior Pride in their religion and traditions (like many today who grew up in Lutheran or Catholic homes) keeps them away as if God will judge on a curve and let me in, but not Tommy down the street. They professed to know and serve God but when tested and God was right before them evaluating, coaching, correcting, giving them a chance to submit and repent, they were found lacking in the balances, their lip service was a lot different then their heart and foot service they lived for themselves and as they had pleased. They had a life without God without love without compassion without forgiveness

Now you would have thought the disciples had known better - Jesus was very patient with this group of slow learners .... 1st of all let's think about this - would the holier than thou, cleaner than the clean EVER, I mean EVER be hospitable enough to INVITE you over (ones they don't like) for a dinner ... I would check the box to say No there. Would the political power of the day who thought if life was to be, it's up to them, would they SHARE with the COMMON MAN pheasant whom they probably considered Jesus group as a Motley Crew. Eliminating the part, that they would most likely NEVER get an INVITATION was a good metaphor to them, to not get MIXED up in the way they thought, in the way they believed, for the outcome would by far miss the mark In Jesus no cutting back on quality to make quantity and no short cuts
