Great review glad I found it. Luckily I had an extra subwoofer around when I bought my ls50s and it made a world of difference for me. I have my sub set pretty low unless I'm playing some electronic in which case the neighbors are dancing too haha.

Nice review! Have you had the chance to listen to the LS50s in combination with the Schiit Ragnarok 2 by now? I would be very interested in your opinion. Its very difficult to get a live demo here in Germany since most retailers don't have Schiit audio.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I still haven't had a chance to try the LS50s with a Ragnarok. I'm planning to try a couple different amps with them in 2021, but probably not the Ragnarok since I have too many integrateds at this point. Very possibly the Shiit Vidar, though.

Hi, since your sprout 100 has a dedicated Sub Out (and I guess some form of crossover built-in), could you not improve your pairing with the ls-50s which would get power-a-plenty for the mids and trebles, while your sub would handle the bass on its own power ? I’m just doing that on a Yamaha WXA-50 that has ( nearly ?) the same IcePower Class D module inside for speaker placement issues -but they’re Focals, not KEFs I’m also interested in) with a Yamy sub, that runs using its own class D. I hear REL make the most appreciated subs if you can grab one second-hand...Regards

Thanks for watching! For music, I generally get enough bass from the LS50s without a sub, but I would like to try one at some point. I've since moved the Sprout into our living room with some Elac B5s where it makes a great 2-channel home theater. I may add an inexpensive sub to that setup using the Sprout's sub out. I'd love to get a REL to go with the LS50s at some point, but will probably experiment with some different amps first.

Thanks for the setup review. Do you think it's the bass difference between the two speakers?

Thanks! The KEF LS50s actually go a little lower and have better bass definition than the Elac B5s, so I'm not really sure why the B5s work better with the Sprout for heavier music. I've since paired the LS50s with a tube amp, and that combo works surprisingly well. The Sprout and B5s now serve as a great little 2 channel home theater setup in our living room.

Is main amplifier sprout 100? How many watt per 8ohm?

Yes, at the time I made this video, the Sprout100 was the main amplifier. It's rated 50wpc at 8 ohms.
