Aside from that, in the world, humans need liquids (such as water) in order to live along with the bread which gives them energy. The reason the study shows gamers being more suicidal is not because they are playing the game but that they use the game as an escape. They are already depressed by life so they seek something to get away. That something is gaming. Take this from someone who went through that stuff. I hate the fact that they just through around the word suicide and blame it on the video game compared to real problems like bullying, abuse, neglect, poverty, and mental illness. When I becalmed overly depressed I started using my phone more and more. The phone did not make me depressed but it was an escape. Along with this they mentioned the boys are the majority but this is because boys have trouble expressing their feeling so they just try and get their mind off of it hence the video games. Sorry for the lengthy comment but I just had to get this out there.

Meepertonz okay. I’m legitimately addicted to video games. I’ve been without them since August, and have been suffering in solitude. My brother is trying to prolong how long it is until I return. I am nearing closer and closer to an emotional breakdown. IMO, I have thought deep and long and reached that gaming industry is the sink that criticisng which harms no loud voice in society, in western and eastern cultures. You have Hollywood, parents, schools and society, government, news corporations and whatever media feeds in. *Here I'm getting off topic from gaming and speaking of society issues in general.* Can any one call society out for the divorce rates and what the real issue and where it lies? Can we call out media for glorifying non-issues and playing with people's emotions until they believe it as an issue, takes off from there and goes without media supervison (and with media I mean politicians)? Can we call out society for broken homes and dropping university off rates are mostly due to dysfunctional families and broken individuals that come from them? Where do all these people resort to? Gaming industry has become the bullied kid, or abused child, that whenever a conflict arises at home, quitting job, bad mood and even divorce is due to, because apparently the child is acting naughtily. Why blame husband and get in conflict with him, when you have a defenseless, easy target?

I try to play Xbox with friends as much as I can (gonna admit I probably should spend more time with my dogs and family) but I also have great grades in school and prioritize school over playing Xbox. Plus I bowl in a league and do drivers ed. So I wouldn’t exactly say I’m “addicted” to video games.

I socialize plenty, and I only do any gaming every other weekend to unwind every once in a while. Do the math and that's 6 hours out of 336 hours per 2 weeks Btw, I'm a teen.
