I feel like the plot of this comic could've served for an original story tackling the dangers of age gaps and grooming, especially one where the abuser gets punished for their actions. Though since this uses Loud House characters, maybe if it was about Lincoln being targeted by an older teen/adult and his sisters getting revenge for him, it would be passable. But why use Sam for this? It doesn't help that the story's inconsistent with whether or not we should blame her (for me, I do; there's no excusing her actions, no matter how sad her backstory is). Overall, it's just uncomfortable to sit through, and this is coming from someone who doesn't usually care for screwed up fanfics.

the tone of the comic is so... odd. its like this comic trying to stay hard with being "neutral" as hard it can when it comes to the grooming. first it'll "acknowledge" the overwhelming confusion Lincoln went through for being taken advantaged of then it'll be lenient on whether or not what Sam should get the consequences of her predatory actions. even the "acknowledgment" is quickly brushed aside and his confusion and pain is more-so treated like angst from a denial of feelings not formed from grooming than a result of being pressured and traumatized by SA. this is not only such a odd way to treat serious, traumatizing topics, but its also questionable to use characters from child shows for something like this considering the fans/fandom is likely going to be filled with minors aged 13 and below. the treatment of these topics make it very worse if the creator actually does ship lincoln and sam, because (to me) it most definitely confirms that the trauma were supposedly used as the "driving force" for their "romantic" dynamic in later years despite Lincoln being traumatized... this comic is a whole ass yikes moment

As a fanfic writer myself, there’s just so many issues. Like some people use stuff like this to vent out their own trauma and try to cope with their favorite characters, but the amount of victim blaming, Stockholm syndrome and almost homophobia I really don’t think this was executed well at all. You CAN write a story about grooming and it was going so well at first showing how that shit happens, how it’s usually most the time a friend or family member but then it just goes downhill and doesn’t really blame the r*pist for…BEING A R*PIST. It doesn’t try to say that it was bad, that Lincoln was groomed it almost like celebrates it as this “forbidden lovers” thing and that’s just nasty. Here’s the thing: it COULDVE been good. It could’ve been a story of like an adult Lincoln in therapy recalling his trauma and recovering after being abused, generational trauma, the effects of grooming but no, it’s like someone made a deviantart fan fiction of a r*pe PSA while doing acid. Hell despite the reputation thanks to the movies, the original intention of Lolita was to show how Humbert Humbert was abusive and predatory, not a romance with an age gap.
