I realize that some people are ok with animals but don't want pets. But, I grew up in a family where we always had a dog. Then when I moved out on my own I had a roommate that had 2 cats, whom I came to love as my own. Then I married a guy that had grown up with dogs and with parakeets. Over the years we, along with our three (now grown) kids have shared our home/lives with dogs, cats, gerbils, parakeets, canaries, a white mouse and an iguana. I now have 3 dogs and a cat. I cannot imagine a life without animals sharing it with me. I am so glad you and Sparky found each other! Take care.

My beautiful black Japanese Bobtail cat, "Big Bad Bendy" used to walk over a mile up the road in the remote valley I lived in, waiting for me to come home from work. He would wait for me, (and do some hunting, as often there were rat "heads" on my doorstep...) he would be standing in the road, I would let him in the car, & he would stand with 2 paws on the dash, 2 paws on the seat, meowing loudly the whole way home. P.s. the valley I lived in rarely had traffic, Bendy lived to be 21 yrs old.😊 Congrats on your lovely new kitty!

We also were adopted by a female cat called Mia when she was only around 2 months old. We found her in a hole on a brick of our outbuilding. Since then she had 3 beautiful kittens that were adopted by my daughter-in-law and her aunt. She was to be spayed right when the lockdown started here in Ireland. Now she's spayed and getting a little bit fat lol.She's so friendly and loves our dog Stella.

My BIL needs this watch. He, his wife and his in-laws “ran away” to Scotland to tour a whisky distillery, take a class and then blend his own bottle for his 50th birthday. While *his* BIL is his birthday twin, my husband is his identical twin. He made up for ditching his twin brother on their 50th birthday by bringing him a special bottle of whisky. Edit: Just forwarded the blog post to my SIL so she can find the watch for my BIL.

Awww that was a really beautiful story and a truly loved awesome cat , his other guardians loved him enough to let him go ,his happiness and safety was paramount to them and how sweet of you both to dig deeper to find his home and take him back . Loved the Scottish history watch and YES would indeed enjoy knowing about how you both hot together . You are obviously a bit of an historian. I find it so interesting . Not all the boring lies forced upon us in schools ( prison for children ) with black and white drawings but true history like this and you as a couple , your history is so much more colourful than ANYTHING they brain wash us with in the supposed educational system. That cat is so cute!!! I also had a grey and white cat named Sparky when I was growing up. He was a rescue and a bit crazy, but I loved him. 😍 Loved the drone shots!! I even recognized the castle (craigmiller was the name I think...) From Outlander, my husband and I went there on our Scotland trip 2 years ago. If this pandemic will ever end I would love to visit Scotland again! But for now I'll have to enjoy Scotland through your videos. So please keep them coming!! 😘😘😘

I just saw your "Dallas Cowpeople vs. Detroit Frogs" video. I laughed so hard I started fearing my just healed up ribs would fracture agan! I haven"t laughed that hard in doggone near thirty years. I had to find the most recent video hoping that you would read this. I also would enjoy hearing about how you and your "better half" joined up. I really enjoy your videos and wish you well in your future explorations. I lived in Scotland for a wee bit about forty years ago and fell in love with it. Didn't just stay in one place either. Hi Shaun, I went to a whiskey 'con' (for lack of a better word) last year in Bremen, and while tasting we got to talking with one of the venders and he explained to us that most whiskey casks nowadays come from the U.S., because they only get used one time for Bourbon and then they get taken apart and reasembled to mature whisky in for up to three decades . . and so the wood of your watch is probably white oak from the States . . or France, but not quite so likely . . and it's been called a barrel once, so you do you! ;-) Slàinte mhat . . . .

Talking about cat in the garden, right on cue ‘Sparky’ gives you headbutts. You don’t choose cats. CATS CHOOSE YOU! Also, you don’t own the cat. You are now the cat’s ‘staff’. He has the most unique meow! I love it! Had 39 cats at one time. Due to attrition, down to 9! Usually best to have two cats. So they have someone to play with. Love your vlogs. Thanks Karri 😊 I’m pretty sure Sassenach does not have a distillery of its own. Being a blend, it will probably buy whisky from several distilleries and put its own badge on them.

Thanks for the beautiful footage of the autumn leaves. One of my cats is just like yours, not in looks but in temperament. She head butts me daily whenever I lie down to sleep. She also loves to knead the skin at the base of my neck. We call it “making biscuits”.

Sparky is talkative. I had a talkative cat it was nice except when it wasn't. We've lost three pets in the last 7 years. One cat and two mini-schnauzers. Now we have a super sweet but slightly insane Mexican Chihuahua/mutt.

I didn't like Scotch Whisky until I went to Crieff and visited the distillery just outside of town. I was at a little pub and mentioned that I wanted to go, but there wasn't enough time for me to walk. So, the owner of the pub gave me a ride, and I got there in time to join in on the last tour of the day. I was amazed that a drop of water 'opens up' the whisky for a very different experience.

@Shaun, are you sure he doesn't live with other people? I've had many cats that came and went sometimes for months and found out they also had loving homes elsewhere in the neighborhood. I call those cats, Players! Super friendly and trusting who just walk right on in. Love your channel.

Sparky is just too cute, and so very sweet. My 19 (almost 20) year-old cat, Scamp, passed away in late July, and I miss him every day. Thanks to seeing Sparky, I may soon be ready to open my heart to a new fur-baby. I am a lot closer now than before I saw this video. So, thanks for that. Sparky is BEAUTIFUL!! And I am totally convinced that cats KNOW who they want to live with and we can all see is LOVES you!! Shaun - Wonderful vid as usual. Your editing of the Sparky part was superb. I'm a little confused about who lives where, at the moment, but I suppose it will become clear. I would have called him 'Wanderer', but I get it. Sparky it is. You're always supposed to call a cat, dog or other, by something that ends with an 'eee' sound, the better to call them. As in 'Marley' or 'Buoddie' (long for Buddha), or even Padre. For some reason, they recognize that last 'eee; or 'eah' sound as part of their name, when hollered.
