Hello, I am so happy to have found you! I think I’m calling myself an intermediate quilter at this point, all self-taught over the last seven or so years. I did know how to sew from childhood, but I didn’t really think about quilting until my Mom died and and I wanted to do something with her fabric stash. So I have made about 12 quilts since then and have really caught the fever. I love scrappy quilts and this one looks particularly useful for using some smaller pieces. Anyway, glad to be here, new subscriber. Peace from Ohio … (Meant to put this on the main comments page, but oh well …)

Kate, I've been meaning to do a Terry Rowland inspired colorwash quilt for a while. Your video helped push me forward, and inspired me to make a such a quilt ffom my scrap bins. I like that wonky is okay. In fact I'm taking that idea just a little further. My blocks are made up of various size scraps--where I'm not worrying about the size of tye blocks right now. I've made about 55 blocks so far in about a dozen sizes. I've done a couple of scrapy layouts with those blocks and I am loving the scappy, non-traditional way they are beginning to come together. I know that I'll probably cut down the number different sizes to make it easier to piece, but for now I'm loving the organic process of making the blocks. Your calm, unhurried manner have inspired me. Thank you. BTW I've seen the video with your final quilt layout-- beautiful!

Put the sewing machine out on the dining room table by the big windows and watch it snow. It’s the coldest it’s been here in Hamilton MT since 1889….right now a balmy 3 degrees. I love Terry's work. I was so amazed at how she sewed the whole quilt top together with all the pieces sticking together at the end. It was so amazing to see. I love how you say:" it's best not to think too hard about" totally agree, however that is not how my brain works - I really can do random chaos - I can do "orderly chaos" but it's still hard. I need to work on that :) You have such great color sense.

Yes Yes Yes - I'm currently investigating the whole thing about growing some plants to use as dyes. I'll look forward to this. Thanks for being such a mindful part of my week.

So lovely! I can’t wait to see where you go with this AND to start my own scrappy quilt. PS I adore the music you play on your videos, as well. So peaceful. Just what I need when I pop on KZbin for a few minutes break from my busy day. Thank you.
