Why spend so much for aluminum plating with big holes that allow your gutter to fill with roof shingle rocks while allowing mosquitos to breed in you gutter so easy to fly right through those little holes. I'm going to buy a spool of heavy screen, and save money, while avoiding cleaning out the shingle rocks while preventing mosquitos from breeding in my gutters. I bet that I can find a coil of galvanized stripping to secure that edges of the screen when screwing it into the gutter.

Make sure when you over lap guard the holes match up! If it’s not possible you can use a drill bit and make them yourself ( I do this sometime if my corner holes don’t match up)

Which is better/stronger: A-M or Shur Flo?

I personally prefer Shur Flo and I am not paid to say that. If installed correctly there is no strength difference. Shur design is more universal to most gutter systems. A-M gutter guard is designed for a specific type gutter hanger system. Won’t leaves and spinners still sit on top of the gutter guard? It does t look like it has enough of a slope for those to fall off. You would still need to leafblow the gutters

Yes in some cases. It’s not as if the gutter guard is magnetic to debris. The wind plays a big part for all gutter guards. The angle plays very little for the maintenance. Stay focused the gutter guard has two main purposes. That’s to increase the flow rate over the year. Second, to make the gutters manageable👍

@spectre3492 yes possibly, also remember with a 2-3 year gutter cleaning you will only get a 70-80% flow rate meaning 20-30% of the year the gutters will still overflow. The gutter guard with possible maintenance will give you a 98%+ flow rate over the year, the gutters drain/ function properly much more😉

@@Everythinggutter i blow them out every year around fall probably 3 times because the trees drops so many leaves. i was hoping putting these gutter guards on would drastically decrease how much I have to do it, so I would hope the wind would blow off the vast majority of the leaves and spinners
