A MAGICAL SNOWY WALK IN THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE

This week we welcomed snow back to the English countryside. I drove to my favourite village here in the Peak District to enjoy watching the winter wonderland scene that unfolded. This is a magical wander around the village of Castleton. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Oh yes, all the fires would have been lit 🥰 Yes, those were snowdrops in the churchyard which looked so pretty with the snow falling all around them 😍

Thank you for sharing with us! Growing up in Australia I've only ever seen snow once, and that was high up in the mountains. It's a dream to one day wander an English village covered in snow, just like this. The honey-coloured stone, the high hills rising up, the bare trees.... gorgeous. ❄💖

Hopefully one day you get to come and spend winter here 🥰 Scotland is your best bet to ensure snow! We don’t get a lot of snow here either tbh so unless you’re here for a good length of time then you most likely won’t catch any 😬 It’s so so pretty when it does snow though 😍

It was very warm and sunny today in NC and I spent most of the day outside enjoying the weather. When I got home I saw your video and put it up on the big screen and cut the lights off. All in all I'd say you had the better weather. Cheers for great content of lovely England.

I live in the south of the US and when we get heavy snow we batten down the hatches,heat up the teapot, grab a book, a blanket and with a cat in our lap, enjoy the snow from the insides of our homes! It really was!! 😍 oh yes, we’ve got the snowdrops now, daffs will be here in another week or two for the early ones but most will be next month. I can’t wait to see them all 🥰 Where are you based? I’m sure they’ll be up before you know it!

@@theslowtravelsfamily, I live in the US, on an island in the State of Maine. Today isn't the norm, as we had nearly 40 deg F temps, but ground frozen like a rock, it is, for us about mid-May for bulbs and the start of leaves on trees. Being a gardener, I am cheering on the first sign of any bulbs I have in the ground. Spring is the promise of new life and a whole season of color and fragrance. I can't wait!

Thank you for braving the roads to film this beautiful video! We didn't get much snow this winter, so it was wonderful to immerse myself in the sounds of snow (and the jackdaws!) in such a charming setting. I love the way snow "tones down" the world, both in color and sound.

Not that I’m aware of but I’ll ask my parents as they have a lot more knowledge on the village than I do and was actually where they met ☺️ A very sweet place indeed 🥰 Managed to get back safe and sound, was quite the interesting drive 🥴 lol
