Sad to see the broken glass. If you fix it, I will watch. If you have it fixed, I will still watch what you do next. 😊

Before getting too far into the process of replacing the glass, it would be a good idea to look at the manufacturer warranty options. A lot of door & window manufacturers have some form of "broken glass" warranty that can significantly reduce (if not eliminate) the cost of a full replacement.

Hope it doesn't cost you too much in time or funds, but I'll definitely watch a repair video - or any video you make!

Maybe add a layer of clear laminate and seal the entire pane in clear epoxy on both sides. Its a crackle glass privacy door now!

Your gonna have to buy some nice suction cup handles. The ones big enough to hold that sheet of glass won’t be cheap. You’ll be better off just getting a professional, it won’t be as much as you think.

Since this is a newer video maybe you can answer a question on one of your older videos the one were you put a float switch on your rain barrels you mentioned a float switch that goes into the side of the barrel but I couldn't see anything on where to buy it I'm setting up a water system for my house I'm using 2 old 60 imperial gallon electric hot water tanks and a 40 gallon natural gas tank so no way to get one in other than the side I figure I can remove the gas controller and put a float switch in that hole I'm using a 12 volt on demand pump will eventually have a two electric systems a 12 volt for the pump and other low voltage devices and a 2000 watt 120 volt pure sine wave set up for the rest of the house but right now I need water it's like the old saying you don't know how convenient running water is until the well dies as for your broken window there is a solution between DIY and having a window company come replace it you take the window to them I did a lot of window glass replacement and I always took the pain to my local hardware store it was a lot cheaper than paying the window place to send a truck out and I didn't have to worry about a mismeasurment or worse breaking the glass while installing it don't know if yours is double or single pane but phone around

Search for "horizontal float switch" on google and you may find something that fits your needs.

I had the same thing happen to my basement sliding glass door! I drove the lawnmower too close, caught a rock and boom. Luckily only the outter pane shattered like yours. I paid to get it fixed. It was a couple hundred $$ and about 2-3 hours. The best part was the learning experience. I never drove the lawnmower too close to that door again. I'd be interested to see what you decide to do to fix it. Also it would be interesting to know what you do to prevent it from happening again.

Like some of the others have stated I would watch whatever you decide to do. Just a question: Have you thought about Plexiglass as an alternative? I only mention it because I'm thinking of making a greenhouse shed and have thought about using plexiglass.
@GreenTechTown
@GreenTechTown Жыл бұрын
Good idea, especially for a greenhouse. I think my end goal for this shed is to make it similar to a guest lounge area or an extension of my home, so most of the materials I used will be similar to what would be used to build a home. But we'll see as time goes on. Good luck with your shed when you start working on it!

@@GreenTechTown 100% agree with the plexiglass suggestion. As well as being less breakable, some plexiglasses are MORE transparent than glass. That's pretty cool.

Just my 2 cents if it happened it will probably happen again so learn ....there's several replacement options tempered glass would be a good alternative but twice as expensive I've made several windows out of plexi I'm not handy with glass still learning to work with glass and worked great on my old 100 year house odd shapes and windows ...it's also cheape😊r sometimes...super easy to diy and so much cheaper just knock out old glass cut to size and putty to seal ..repaint and done
