The most honorable thing I ever did as a marine was funeral detail. As a marine it was a struggle to keep it together while folding that flag. Rest easy brother, we got the watch from here.

It is hard... my grandfather passed 3 weeks ago, and he was a 30 year Marine. His last words to me, "I know it's coming, I'm not scared though." And I said to him, "Once a Marine, always a Marine." And we saluted each other, he passed that next day. It is tough, but he is no longer in pain. OORAH!

I only worked in a elderly home for 7 months but in that time i lost 3 friends, all of them felt like grandmas too me, too of them I only knew for a few days but the third one I knew for quite a few months, she was paralyzed due to I believe arthritis, she would scream in pain if I tried to trim her nail or clean her palms, towards the end she didn’t wanna eat and it was difficult for the family due to corona and the whole pAndemic, only a few were allowed in at the time.she passed away an hour into my shift that day, almost as if she was waiting to say goodbye

My grandpa died a few days ago and had his funeral like this, seeing my grandma get handed a folded flag crushed me. Semper Fi.

I was 13 when my grandpa died. We were inseparable. His flag was handed to me, as I was sitting next to my grandma and that's what he had wanted and my grandma agreed long before he passed away. That was the first time I ever felt my heart truly break. Now, whenever I attend or see a military funeral, I think of that moment. Sorry you lost your Grandpa. ❤️

My father passed away and massive heart attack he was in the marines protect us our country he had a good life when where done here well all see our family members up there who has died for our country love to those who died for protected us and give dogs there lives for us and that's true honor god bless u and for the things u do thank u

My closest uncle was a Marine and we loved him dearly. He is no longer with us and lost his battle against cancer but his legacy lives on❤️

My Uncle is a Ex-marine, now CIA agent in Africa, I went to many of these for his buddies and You wont cry any harder than at a military funeral

@@trashyv4s628 he is not in the field, he helps with consulting and some other stuff he wouldn’t talk about, after the marines he wanted to stay and help somewhere overseas without having to see his best friends die in front of him. He doesn’t talk about it to much when he is home so there is a confidential part to his job obviously but location isn’t

Funeral Detail was the most fulfilling duty I ever became a part of for a fallen brother or sister in Uniform. I was honored to have performed these duties for the US Army for a few months. The sound of Taps still breaks me after all these years. #RIP brother. #Respect to all of my #Marines brothers and sisters out there. #SemperFi!!!

This video depicts almost exactly what I experienced yesterday as I attended the burial of a friend who had served in the Marines. The respect and reverence shown by these two Marines sends shivers down my spine. To have had the driveler of experiencing this firsthand yesterday was life changing.
