Watching this and other documentaries makes me worry about the health of the world's democracies. Democracy is our best defense against such homicidal geniuses as Hitler, and we have seen a strong tendency for those in democracies to be influenced by would be authoritarians. Even a country as progressive and democratic as 1920s Germany can wake up in a dictatorship.

How Human Nature Works Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful. Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”

Lo que me queda luego de ver este documental es una especie de silencio pesado en el estómago. Escuché testimonios en carne viva; y esas imágenes... Stalin ruled from 1923 to 1953. He never lost a war and won WW II against Nazi-Germany, whom he had helped from August 1939 to 16th of June 1941 to start WW II against Poland, France, etc. The stupid criminal Hitler could only rule from 31th January 1933 to 30zh April 1945. He lost WW II and Germany totally and must kill himself in order to avoid the death penality by the victorious enemies and the trial because of his crimes.
