Hi, Geckobricks here. I'm so happy to hear you like the rocket booster kit and thank you for taking the time to make a video on the product. I've personally been a fan of your channel for a while so I was pleasantly surprised to see the SRB kit in my youtube feed! If anyone needs any help printing one of their own, do feel free to reach out on the download page.

Do you think that Polyterra Sunrise Orange would be a better color match for the tank?
@GeckoBricksUK10 ай бұрын
I think that sunrise orange could look good, its a much more traditional bright orange by the look of it. I would also recommend Copymaster3D Premium PLA Rust Copper which you can still find online in some stores@@fdavpach

This is an interesting case where Lego could have made the brick container that is also a part - imagine if the tube of the huge tank was actually a single piece being the container for the whole set similar to those of Bionicle/Roboriders sets tube packaging. The tank could have been two piece tube with pointy screwed in top containing all the bricks for the shuttle and boosters. But it potentially would need to be made bigger in diameter because of that if the pieces wouldn't fit.

I remember a set like that. It was set 5956 from the Adventures theme, where the explorer’s blimp piece was the storage space for the set’s pieces.

I don't mind 3D printed parts for LEGO, in particular for technic lego since it gives more options. And this model looks great with the space shuttle, I would however have prefered it if the parts the fuel tank and boosters were made of, were more lego/like kompatible.

Well the speed number is pure marketing. The speed could theoretically print at that speed, and the motor movement would allow it to go above 1000mm^2 but the filament has to melt fast enough for the material to be able to exit the extruder. There are high flow nozzles, but its hard to print at a very high speed

I could easily change the settings in Cura as well, but based on several reports the printer simply won't have a decent output at 500 mm/s. The flsun v400 has a default Cura profile with the highest speed settings and it can print with those without any issues.

Thank goodness this is the last sponsored 3D-printer video on this channel. Seems that taking advantage of the higher subscriber count instead of doing these videos on your Gadget Reviews channel didn't matter after all. I for one would be happy to see more RC mods or alternative models of existing LEGO (Technic) sets - now that B-models are dead - and not just the same reviews of the free sets you get.
@RacingBrick10 ай бұрын
You know, it is not obligatory to watch my content. If you have issues with me working with "free stuff", then you don't have to. This is what I like doing, and I will keep doing what I feel like, and that probably won't be the things you want to see. Simple as that.

Sorry if that came out too harsh or unfriendly. I like your content or I wouldn't be still subscribed. But I will also openly say what I dislike and don't want to see on this channel. You can do with the feedback what you want. Who knows what will be in trend tomorrow. People get bored quickly.

Depends on your local supplier and the brand of filament you choose. There's a weight breakdown on the product page about the required amount - "You will need 750g of orange filament, 650g of white filament, 200g of black filament and 400g of grey filament."

@Ruddellcreations188 ай бұрын
I tried building that fuel tank and boosters and launchpad, but the problem was that the boosters were poorly designed and was expected to hold most of the weight on the launch pad. So it all fell apart, so not recommended.
@RacingBrick8 ай бұрын
I didn't experience any "poor design", according to the instructions you are advised to glue the components and they should be able to support the weight. Maybe you should double check the instructions and the quality of your prints?
@Ruddellcreations188 ай бұрын
@RacingBrick I didn't glue the pieces together. That's probably why it didn't work out, but I would never glue pieces together.

This is why I'm not an early adopter of technology--because the longer I wait, the better it gets! 😂 Kinda like how people in rural parts of the world went straight from no technology to smartphones.
@NoMoreBsPlease10 ай бұрын
WTF are you talking about? What do you think "technology" means? Electric motors are technology and in nearly everything. Absolutely baffling how someone could be ignorant enough to think smartphones was the first technology in rural countries. Even third world countries have crazy industries rebuilding older tech. Even the Amish modify electric tech to run on compressed air and steam.
