Growing up my parents didn't have a lot of money. For Christmas it was: something to wear, something we want, something we need and something to read. My grandparents took care of the stockings which was mostly fruit and candy. I have fond memories of those days and still have some of the books from my childhood and I am 75 now.

Falicity‘s comments were the sweetest thing ever. I love how tender her heart is. And I love how even at her young age she has learned that people are more important than things. And that’s something that’s not hot, that is something that is “caught“. So great job Jeremy and Jinger. You’re doing well raising yourgirls.

Honestly, it’s really comforting to hear Jinger say she doesn’t feel her age. If a woman with a husband, kids, book contracts, house, etc doesn’t feel her age, it makes me, a 28-year-old with no husband or kids or house, feel a bit better about also struggling to feel my age.

Jinger & Jeremy, one way to describe your desire to give such a thoughtful gift/reply is being paralyzed by choice. Jinger, you are so young-I'm twice your age yet I absolutely love listening to you talk with each other! I was raised having cake & ice cream for birthdays. It may be part of the reason I became an avid baker and cake decorator.

That is a felt hat, really only suitable when it's a bit colder outside. During the summer, you need a straw hat. If you are ever in Northeast Texas, go to Crazy House Western Wear in Reno, TX. Ask for either Clay or Justin and they will fit you in a hat and shape it for you, as long as it isn't already pre-shaped. They also sell authentic cowboy boots, and you will be properly fitted. I used to work there. They are family owned and they are a great place to get your boot and hat needs.

A fun gift giving idea is the ‘four gifts’ rhythm. Something they Want, something they Need, something they Wear, something they Read! I’ve used this for our grandchildren especially when they were little ( it gets a little challenging as they get older😉). Just a thought. Thank you for sharing your faith in such a relatable manner. You both are wise beyond your years. My constant goal is to seek out people & experiences that enrich my faith, you two have done just that. Looking forward to your next episode.

My dadio is 73, I adopted him❤, and im always telling him life numbers dont matter, life lived well matters. Living your best life!! I wanted to add that experiences and making memories is the actual lasting and most important gifts for your family. I always told my daughter she could let me have ideas for her but that she would be getting what I thought was best. Like one year it was a chinese yo yo. And "peas and carrots" jellybellys. They were actually orange sherbet and green apple!!! Now thas a goofy memory we never forget!! Speaking of my daughter Grace, could you join in prayer for us. Please and thanks!! I cant wait till you have your kids on the podcast!! Love and Sincerely, Heather from Iowa.❤

I am glad Evie is okay, and it all turned out alright. I hope you can get to the bottom of it for sure. Thanks for sharing about your Birthday & Christmas traditions. We make it very simple too this year was a little extra special. Our daughter has been asking for something for almost 6 years and this year was the year that seemed right to get it. She is doing very well in school, and everything else she had been working hard on a lot of things, so wanted to pretty much grant her one major request with that said only a few little things for the stocking and some clothes. We learned a long time ago not a lot is more appreciated for sure. I try to go by the 4 or 5 major things and that is Something to read. Something to wear which is a couple outfits and Pj's, usually a STEM learning but fun toy,1 thing they asked for, then we like doing the blanket too. But we do Celebrate the birth of Jesus like you do, our favorite part is being together as a family.

Toy and gift idea for you! We have big canvas bags for each of our kids. On Xmas eve we tell them to go around and donate the toys they no longer want or don’t play with to donate to Santa or charity so that another child can play with them. And then Santa leaves new ones for them to enjoy. This also helps instill that gifts can be secondhand and they are still new to us and special. And the idea of generosity and gifting.

Definitely check for allergies...There is a tree here in Texas (mountain cedar) and it just started its bloom here a few weeks ago(early) I have a really bad allergy to it and have struggled with my asthma because of it. Apparently its a really common allergy and there is something called cedar fever that is a result. I really struggled last year because of it as well.Only lived in Texas for 4 years.

I think a lot of people with ADD and OCD struggle with “task paralysis”. For me, I want to perform to a perfect standard and know what perfect would look like, I want to please people to the point where they would be like, “wow did you read my soul, this is perfect” and that impossible task is so draining that I do nothing and then come across like I’m thoughtless. Or like cleaning my kitchen, I know what a perfect spotless kitchen looks like but I don’t have the energy for perfection so I don’t do anything. It’s a struggle lol.

Whenever I travel I ALWAYS find out where the nearest hospital is at and the nearest police station. If I am traveling abroad, I download a local news app to get updated information of what is going on in the country I am at and I find out what is the emergency number for that country. I also email someone back home my flight itinerary, hotel information, if I am renting a car the car description and license plate. I also send my itinerary of things I am doing and I check in at least once a day with that specific person so they know I am ok.
@sharlamccall10 сағат бұрын
Put your location and nearest ER on a sticky note and put someplace near, very visible in case there is an emergency. Helps when you call 911 if you know where you are.
