You guys are hilarious when you're genuinely having fun. Love it. -Straw comes from reeds by the water, in a couple places on the map.- Never played co-op, but I did play it single player for a good while. The town building and people recruiting is actually pretty deep. It becomes more of a first person town sim, where you can assign people different jobs to automate your settlement. As you build different buildings you unlock different things to craft, so there's always progression happening as you build. It's a pretty interesting game, very unique.

Fun fact, people were cleaner than you think in the Medieval Era! Bath houses were a thing, they brushed their teeth with twigs, and up until about the Tudor Era sugar wasn't in their diet outside of fructose and the like from fruit, so their teeth were healthier overall! There's a German channel here on YT that recreates stuff from that time in Germany, they have a video all about a visit to a bath house and there's English subtitles! It was basically a spa day to visit a bath house, and some even had sex workers. It was a changing of social mores and such that made Medieval England filthy and more prone to the plague, which was brought by wild gerbils from China and not rats! Some wild gerbil populations in China even now naturally carry the plague virus, and were either stowaways in carts or deliberately caught and brought to be sold as pets along the Silk Road.
