Hi Olivia, I walked three times in Winter: Started in February, arrived in March. Defenitely my favorite time: Not too many people and I never had more than two rainy days on the whole trip.

In October the part of Spain you're walking in the weather is mostly cold wet and windy. Galicia even more so.

Hi Olive, I walked through El Burgo Ranero on September 29th two years ago. It was still quite warm during the day, and the evening was very nice. But, a week prior in Belorado, we had awful rain. And looking forward, we had just two more days of rain before arriving in Santiago on October 14. I think it can just be hit or miss with the weather in the months of September/October. But, in so far as pilgrims are concerned, there were definitely more people at the beginning of September than in October. I've also walked in the months of May/June (in 2018), and there was a lot more people in that timeframe. The landscape was also much more green in the Meseta which was nice! As it is now 2024, I know you have finished your Camino, but I'm enjoying following along with your vlog! Cheers!

In response to your question - I walked the Camino Frances in May/June of 2022. The weather was fantastic, with only one rainy day in Galicia which is to be expected. It was very hot in late June, but with an early start, finishing by 1 or 2 you can beat the extreme heat. I will be returning to do the Camino Frances in May of this year. Buen Camino.

Hey, Olive-of-the-East (as origin 😊) ...the weather hasn't improved, and now I wonder, what had been awaiting you on the beautiful, mountainous last leg through Galicia... in terms of ideal weather for walking, I still prefer the warm & sunny side, but once arriving in Galicia in June, we more often had cloudy, foggy weather, which is so ideal, and such a breather after the waves of heat... a downside though was that at that time of year the farmers throw so much fertiliser on the fields... it smelled sometimes 'unbearable'! 😑 The other thing about June-July is that you can get heavy thunder storms... which I'm quite used to from my childhood at the north edge of the alps ...the ones I got in Spain made me sometimes run for shelter! I completely understand your choice of bus from Reliegos to Leon, especially with that weather! I also enjoyed spending time in the cities (to my surprise!) - fell in love with Burgos as well as Leon - such beauties!! 🥰 I would generally recommend not to shy away from more popular seasons... there is so much reward in meeting so many exciting people on the road, and I still could and did choose to walk during the day sometimes on my own, if I felt 'peopled-out'... 🚶🚶‍♂🚶‍♀🚶🚶‍♂😄 I still love your way of filming so much, even when you feel miserable, and everything is cuddled in dark, wet clouds... when your journey is through, I see myself already watching it all a second time! 🤗🧡⭐

Hello!😊It's funny how my favorite day on the Camino (which was day 22😁) had pretty horrible weather, yet I absolutely loved that walk!💚My favourite place on the Camino was undoubtedly El Acebo de San Miguel! The fertilizer does sound like an unfortunate downside!😆 I will definitely return during a warmer and sunnier time, I am really curious to experience the contrast.🌻Thank you so much once again for appreciating my filming/videos, it truly means a lot to hear! 🤗💚🌄

I am so grateful that you recorded your experiences on the Camino. It is so refreshing to see the highs and lows of your walk. We all know how many videos only show the good side of things. I will be walking mid September to late October 2024. When you said it gets cold, what temperatures are you talking about? Also, can you let us know what layers of clothing you’d recommend for that time of year? Is there anything that you brought that you wouldn’t bring again , and anything you wish you had? Thank you so much! ❤ It was somewhere between 5-10°C (41-50°F) at that time in Leon, but the cold wind made it feel colder. Throughout the rest of the journey, temperatures generally ranged between 5-15°C (41-59°F). I started on October 2nd, and during my first week, temperatures reached up to 36°C (97°F). Halfway through the month, there was a sudden drop, and the weather turned cloudy and rainy until the end. As for my clothing, I brought a pair of fleece leggings, a thermal turtleneck blouse, a polar fleece jacket, a lightweight down jacket and a rain jacket (plus the t-shirts and shorts for the hot weather), all of which I wore and was happy with. Unfortunately, the rain jacket was not as waterproof as I thought, making it quite difficult for me to walk during the rainy days that followed. I wish I had better rain protection, in general. I completely underestimated that and had days of walking in pretty heavy rain from start to finish. I bought my Hoka trainers specifically for the Camino, and they were absolutely amazing; not a single issue, even though it was my first time wearing them on the Camino. When it comes to shoes, trainers generally turned out to be a safer option than hiking shoes (for preventing blisters), based on conversations I had with other pilgrims as well. However, I wish I had opted for a waterproof version. All the rain protection I had was not good enough. I wish I had a better rain jacket or a good quality rain poncho (I bought one along the Camino, but it was still not good enough 😆), and I also wish I had some waterproof trousers. Later that evening in Leon, I wore the down jacket under the rain jacket and it was alright. I also bought some tights in Leon but only wore them 2-3 times after that. So, in the end, what I had with me was perfect, except for the rain protection. 😊

Everyone do the Camino as he want, but use train and bus is not Camino, is tourism. My opinion...

Hi Enrico, I don't know if you watched my previous videos, but I did struggle with that decision. The reason I decided to take those shortcuts was because I had to finish the Camino in 31 days, and I realised on the way that it was too fast paced. It didn't give me enough time to visit the cities and I didn't have any break, not a single day. So at that point I decided that it was better to make the best of my limited time. If I had 2 extra days maybe, I wouldn't have done that. But anyway, I didn't take any other transportation after Leon and I was, initially, against it too, so I hope that gives a little bit of context.
