Can an old woman get a bottle of water after police beat her like a set of drums and investigate themselves to find no wrong doing?

The city manager, LPD’s past conduct and other issues all need to be addressed by objective parties and resolved. Trust needs to be rebuilt and the city even formed a Trust Commission to address that and doggone it, they lost again there. And guess what? There’s no longer a Trust Commission ….for good reason. Hopefully we can find common ground to repair, heal and move forward.

I have a few points to make. I appreciate the opportunity to do that here. First, Bottled water, it’s a huge part of the water resource problem and I wanted to point out the irony. We need affordable housing… we are a democratic Republic with social programs in place from the birth of our nation, (just like our first and second (etc.) amendments) to help those less fortunate. Medicare, Medicaid, social security, food stamps, public schools, public parks, public libraries, garbage collection, recycling programs are all socialistic and beneficial to society as a whole. I feel as if you used the word ‘subsidized’ as if it were a dirty word. Perhaps I misread the tone. However, today’s market value makes attainable housing difficult if not impossible for many people. These people can’t find housing so where do they land up? On the streets. There but by the grace of god go you and I… And the circumstances to which these people find themselves is none of our business however, as a compassionate society, we need to contribute to the well-being of those who are less fortunate. Therefore, we need subsidized housing. We need to humanize and protect the most vulnerable people in society. Are we doing that? Can we do better? Because water resources are so precious and becoming rare we might want to reconsider projects that use inordinate amounts of water. Golf courses, water parks, fracking are just a few examples of irresponsible uses of our precious water resource. If you build any more golf courses, they will need to be perennial, drought resistant natural courses. Only a small percentage of residents in this city golf. This is an important factor Fracking is irresponsible in its use of water, both in quantity, and how it pollutes what water it dies use. If we are going to Frack against all scientific and economic evidence that it’s not safe and beneficial nor is it sustainable, do it away from people as there are environmental and health consequences to fracking. As part of city planning, we need to know that council members understand and respect the concerns citizens of Loveland have about how our future is being planned. There are different points of view. Are you listening respectfully and are you reconsidering some plans in light of the concerns? People expect polite, factual snd intellectual discussions with Council even when expressing opposition. Are you looking at all aspects of the situation and weighing out the risk benefits of these projects and the opinions of those who have expressed concerns and would like to see other options? We also expect compromise as it can’t be one way or another, everyone in the city is entitled to voice their concerns whether in opposition to your plans or in agreement. And all those people need to be addressed politely partisanship aside. These are some concerns I have so I thank you for giving me a voice. Oh, and by the way, I love Loveland. ❤
