Well technically don’t live there, it’s used as an office space. We used it for a little while as we needed an office space and it felt great walking up to it in the morning and turning and waving before entering, but that novelty wore off quite quickly. It was designed by the architect Robert Adam. I believe that you can still rent the office space if you make enquires, there are around 4 offices for rental! And all things considering, not that expensive! Thanks :)

Both my parents are in the police and so if they bring their id cards and if the guards at the gate are kind, we can get in and stand next to the door. The only time i have ever gone in was when i was 8 years old; we didnt have anything to do and so my mum chanced it and we got in and my sister and i took a few touristy photos. Ever since then, i havent gone back and nobody will believe me.

He's going to spew out random, incoherent policy ideas in the hope that everyone will go "well, I did hate him, but immigrant amnesty/bringing back hanging/painting postboxes yellow/changing the national anthem to Bohemian Rhapsody really sold me". Thing is, he's not President, so he can't say "we will immediately start building hospitals" because Parliament need to approve that, and they're on summer holiday now, he should've said "we'll build hospitals in like a month after my holiday, if Parliament approves my budget". His policies are feel good buzzwords with nothing behind them. Also, it's hyperbolic to call him a fascist, but his Cabinet is more right wing than Britain has had in a long time, and more right than the Shadow Cabinet is left, and Corbyn is frequently called a communist.

I once had the dubious honour of urinating in 10 Downing Street when I was driver's mate for a company called Barrow Hepburne Equipment Ltd when I delivered a ministerial case to the address in 1980 and quickly used the dowstairs lav. No security gates or armed police then. It was a different world though the future was on its way.

You actually used to be able to walk up and down Downing Street. I've done so myself. I remember when Harold Wilson was Prime Minister he actually rejected a plan that would stop ordinary members of the public being denied access to what I still think remains in law as a public right of way to this day.

I used to go by Downing street in the mid-1980s. At that point, the street was blocked off but the fence was only about 3 feet high, so it was quite easy to see down the street to the door of number 10. Those days are long gone...

Did you know that the brick in Downing Street was originally yellow until the 1960’s? Soot from factories covered it, making it black. No. 10 was renovated in the ‘60s where it was properly painted.

You can actually ask the policemen at the entrance to Downing Street, they are legally allowed (but not required) to let you in because it’s a public street and they are just using normal road closure powers to shut it off, if your polite enough they may let you walk in (after checking your bag)

When I was a kid, there were no gates on Downing Street. You could just walk right through. In 1973, Prime Minister Harold Wilson rejected a proposal for more security, his secretary writing, "I much regret this further erosion of the Englishman's right to wander at will in Downing Street." The big gates restricting all access didn't go up until 1989.

It was the intercom that gave it away for me, though it wasn't until you put the pictures of the two doors side by side that I realised how unobservant I actually am! Still, great money making opportunity.. Make a door exactly like 'number 10' and charge tourists and the media to stand in front of it!
